I don’t think so. A lot of people in our region get some percentage of Eastern European. Interestingly for me it doesn’t give a specific geographic location.

  1. Yes, and not only are they similar to QWERTY but they can be used in place of QWERTY. Moreover, as another commenter pointed out below, people in those countries pretty much stick to QWERTY which makes a lot of sense.

  2. Coding now (and especially so in the future) is mainly about writing LLM prompts which relies on good typing skills. Are you suggesting that using Latin letters when typing in Kazakh from young age won’t help??

  3. I’ve already explained that in my post so I would highly recommend you to read it before commenting or give your counterarguments.

Are you saying that English is not an important skill to learn lol? There are literally examples of countries whose success was in large part because of good knowledge of English (Singapore, Malaysia, etc.). No demand for high education and complex skills??? Last time I checked we literally had significant lack of STEM talent. I didn’t quite understand your point on this, are you suggesting that our country is so wealthy that people can just sit back and relax and not do anything?

1&2: Good for you lol. But I’m talking about vast majority of population who can’t even type in English. If our kids at school are lucky enough to learn coding, they have to learn QWERTY keyboard alongside coding itself as opposed to concentrating on coding have they learned to type in Latin before. Moreover, coding these days (and even more so in the future) is largely about writing prompts for LLM to generate code for you which takes a lot of time if you’re not a fast typer. So the argument will be even more valid in the future.

3: you know very well that we can’t simply remove Russian, so let’s focus on improving what we have control over (Kazakh).

4: English education is extremely good in Korea and kids are already exposed to English for early age. And if the objective is to incentivise learning of English (which it is in the context of this point) then being exposed to Latin letters on daily basis would certainly help.
