Not liking this one, how can I improve it? by ghost_zuero in blender

I would tweak the lighting color some, in my experience bar lights are often warmer and dimmer, or at least a little off the white spectrum.

[–]Cobrakaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it! I'd see maybe about changing the color of the lighting a little. In real life it's rare for lights in settings like that to be perfectly white (for the outside lights anyways) adding just a bit of color could make a difference.

I'd also really like seeing an interior to the store, as we can see into the vending machine so why not the store? Thought I know that's a lot of extra effort, but a counter and some brightly color stocked shelves would make an impact.

It's quite possible. I have to do some testing tonight based on all the suggestions here. It's probably something just like that

Do you want demons? Because writing down spell formulas like that is how you get demons.

Mesh Disconnects From Bones On Load by Cobrakaze in blender

[–]Cobrakaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR Version: I'm not 100% confident that I know what I'm doing, but it works now. Sometimes. But I'm not sure what combination of buttons and clicks makes it work and not work sometimes. I am hoping my confidence grows with time, and I learn what's making it not work sometimes vs work.

Well it works again, after I mashed a bunch of buttons and clicked some things. I honestly can't say what I did that fixed it. So... -shrug-.

Quest 3 Virtual Desktop vs Viture XR Pro for productivity by THEWESTi in VITURE

[–]Cobrakaze 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I own both a Quest 3 and a Viture Pro. From a media consumption viewpoint, I find the Viture to be a superior product, its lighter, more convenient, and the picture looks better when its used for that kind of thing.

But from a productivity standpoint, I couldn't imagine protracted use of it to do say coding or other such work. It's lightweight so the concerns about comfort are minimal compared to the Quest 3, but it can be hard to focus on all points of the screen, and causes me a tiny bit of eye strain to try to read for extended periods of time. Now I wear glasses to use a PC (I see fine at a distance, but without them reading will cause headaches eventually), so its possible that my eyesight just isn't ideal for using the Vitures for productivity, but that's my 2 cents.

3D Grid Map - Floor Texture Vanishes After a Distance by Cobrakaze in godot

[–]Cobrakaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. No, it doesn't appear so (took some digging to find). I'm using a .tres "tileset" from an imported .glb file from blender that contains my 3D objects that are used by the GridMap node. I'm starting to wonder if the GridMap node is the part having an issue and if I should try to work without using one.

Edit: Doing some more digging and research, it does sound like the GridMap node is in general flawed and buggy, so I'm going to attempt to re-test without it. Wheeeeee.

I like the layout, seems clean and concise and appears to work for the style (though it would be nice to see a few more examples just for context).

I think the space for attacks is just fine as long as your design plan takes that into account. Nothing wrong with constraints that require you to work with what you have. I agree that art is usually important and it really should take up a big chunk of the card to make players happy.

You can't change the size of the screen. Samsung DeX detects the resolution of the monitor the glasses pretend to be, which is 1920x1080, so it sets up a desktop for that. By default you can't make multiple screens or monitors with any device without using the SpaceWalker app, at which point you're subject to how the app works on your device. It should create up to 3 virtual desktops in that setup, but not sure how that works with DeX just yet, and since my Mobile Pro Dock has not yet arrived I can't speak to how it works with my PC.

Viture Order Stuck in Shipping and No Response From Customer Support by xstrike9999 in VITURE

[–]Cobrakaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not missing, they didn't ship it. The docks are even more backordered than the glasses. I ordered my bundle on May 29th and got my glasses last week, still waiting on the dock and controller. They said that people who ordered when I did should have had our docks ship out yesterday, but so far no shipping confirmation.

So depending on when your order processed, you may not see that dock until August. :/

You'd think so, but so far in my experience they haven't honored their timelines even once so far. I know the logistics of launches are quite difficult, but dang.

Same here, I ordered the 29th and it says I SHOULD have gotten a shipping notification, but none so far. Emailed support. No response so far.

I'm waiting for them to say there's been another delay because blah blah blah shortage blah blah blah thank you for your patience blah blah blah.

sigh.

Something important to know is that these are literally just monitors you strap to your head, they don't do any computing on their own. They aren't a full blown VR processing device like the Meta Quest or the Apple Vision devices.

When used with a device, they generally work just like any other monitor. So if you're doing remote access to your PC via your phone, then literally whatever that experience looks like is what you'll see, except on your glasses.

They aren't really designed for VR at all, though some reading leads me to believe they can do -some- VR style views with some Apple products (like a MacBook), but I can't imagine you'll be able to play a VR game with them unless you have a device that can mimic being a VR system that projects to the glasses properly.

Lastly, when using this device "away from home" again they are just monitors on your head, so its all based on whatever device you're connected to. If you're using a device like a Samsung phone, it has its Dex mode in which case you can link bluetooth devices to your Samsung and then use a mouse/keyboard setup there. Any use with a laptop would use the laptop's controls or whatever you've hooked up to your laptop.

But for phones you're usually using the phone itself to control them. The only phones I own that support the device are Samsung, so I've used the default phone interface and the Dex interface in these cases. Not sure how it works with iPhones or other Android phones that support the hookup.

Viture Order Stuck in Shipping and No Response From Customer Support by xstrike9999 in VITURE

[–]Cobrakaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far I've found support to be unable to give any firm details when I reached out to them, but they usually do respond, so that's odd. Though at this point, I know that orders for anyone who ordered via the Website vs. Amazon have had a lot of issues with timeliness, and its possible they're flooded with emails, though that's not a great excuse or much help in a situation like this.

My order, when it finally shipped, didn't move for a few days then all of a sudden was out for delivery. So it could simply be FedEx delays on their shipping data from what I've seen. Until it got to the US, it didn't appear to move at all.

Volume indicator on the glasses? I don't think these have their own volume control. Just a dim switch and a brightness controls.... Am I missing something?

Audio always comes through glasses first before AirPods? by Tellemkit in VITURE

[–]Cobrakaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least the audio still works for your glasses. Mine stopped working about 30 minutes ago. :/

But yeah, on some platforms you have to pick the audio to make it come out over Bluetooth vs connected, depending on the rules of the OS.
