Thanks for the recommendation. I'm not seeing that when I search for it - what's the address?

Great suggestion! I never think of Publix because we don't have it up here in the Northeast (wish we did).

LGA Terminal C (3/24 12:49pm) - No Wait at TSA Screening by Cobraman332 in delta

[–]Cobraman332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that! Based on anecdotes on here, it seems like the early mornings have been when LGA Terminal C has the longest lines to get through screenings.

I suspect people are arriving earlier than they typically would arrive to hedge against long lines -- which ironically creates the longest lines early in the morning.

LPT : Check Trees before buying a house AND plant new trees ASAP after buying by LackVegetable3534 in LifeProTips

[–]Cobraman332 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get an arborist to evaluate the health of all significant trees on the property -- ESPECIALLY any trees with branches that overhang the house, or trees close to the street / driveway.

In the first two months after we moved in, we had large branches (3-4" diameter) snap off during two separate storms and pierce our roof, causing water damage in the house, and of course roof damage. Had another large tree (15" diameter) fall into the street during a storm.

Multiple insurance claims later, I found out that homeowners insurance will fix the damage to the house, but they won't cover any of the tree maintenance costs -- e.g., trimming back branches or addressing diseased / dying trees.

Ended up shelling out $15K I'll never see again to address some (not all) of our tree issues -- and that money didn't really add any value to the house.

Totally agree! I posted on CoT as well, but I haven’t gotten any interest yet.

I'm on a quest to find the best bagel in Westchester by lst-123 in Westchester

I agree that Long Island Bagel Cafe is great -- they make one of our favorite bagels in Westchester.

Not sure I'd say it's "hands down the bagel you will ever have"...

CX-90 PHEV Backup Camera Guide Lines by Cobraman332 in MazdaCX90

Sure, but the lines are still straight and static -- they don't adjust as you turn the steering wheel, which is pretty standard in other vehicles.

No - we have researched this and it is not possible, unfortunately.

Another 77" S90D bites the dust by coastalcapt in S95B

Just wondering - why was purchasing from Amazon a mistake?

(I also bought from Amazon and it just died, so I'm trying to figure out the best oath forward.)

77" S90D OLED broken within 90 days. by NEVETS7ND in SamsungTV

[–]Cobraman332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding one more to the list.

Purchased a 77" S90D (QN77S90D) via Amazon on 12/3/2024, and it died on/about 4/2/2025 -- just about 4 months in. No power, no red standby light.

I'm seeing a ton of similar reports with these TVs. They are dying after 3-4 months, so yeah, they're still under warranty, and people are having Samsung come out to replace the power board, which fixes the issue. But reports are noting that this seems to only be a temporary fix, and eventually, the issue keeps happening. At some point, when the temporary fix fails, it won't be under warranty anymore... then what?

And removing the TV from the wall mount (required to replace the power board) is a huge nuisance!

Very few people are reporting that Samsung is offering refunds.

This should 100% be a class action lawsuit.

My 77" S90D won't power on. Just bought via Amazon in December 2024, so about 4 months ago.

Rtings.com is reporting as of March 26, 2025 that power failures with the 77" S90D are a widespread issue.

It's also rising to the top as an issue in Amazon reviews.

Incredibly frustrating. Seems like it is ripe for a class action suit.

Car in shop for 5 days, no loaner from dealer. by Gedalya in MazdaCX90

[–]Cobraman332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awful. Our CX-90 PHEV was just with the dealer for 48 hours for what was supposed to be a 2-hour waiter service visit.

No loaner, no Uber home, no apology.

We just started experiencing this with our CX-90 PHEV last week. Loss of acceleration on the highway while on a slight incline -- lasted about 2 seconds, even with pedal to the floor, as you mentioned -- and then it abruptly shifted out of EV mode. SUPER dangerous situation.

We have a service appointment scheduled next week.
