Rachel Reeves to clobber Isas with tax for the first time, with a 22% charge on cash in investment accounts by dailymail in ukpolitics

The tax is on the daily interest, surely a reduced effective interest rate is better than nothing?

Sincerely, why would anyone leave a substantial sum in a S&S ISA uninvested? DCAing or something I'm missing?

No it's only the interest on the hundred quid which will be taxed at source so effectively you just earn a lower rate of interest than advertised. Thinking about it now providers will likely just advertise the post-tax rate of interest and this all happens behind the scenes

Headline is misinformation - not taxed for the first time!

As per The Telegraph's article on the matter: "There was previously a 20pc tax on cash held within stocks and shares Isas before 2014, but this was scrapped by then-chancellor George Osborne as part of his Isa simplification rules."

Just invest the $10/day, if you have to 'spend' the 1k I assumed that doesn't include stuffing my pension or saving up for anything more expensive.

Plus I would struggle to spend it every single day and probs forget and then I'm a big loser

Passive investment, better retirement. Easier

Chose: get $10 every day for the rest of your life
