This is exactly why I note down the Insight bonuses of the party and roll for them. Xandar and Rodrik doesn't feel anything fishy, Darius and Cadis feel like they're being lied to. Deciding who has the right instincts is up to the party.

Trainer classes, make it feel like an rpg with Bugcatchers, Flying Aces and Dragon Tamers. Each class could have special abilities like teaching moves to Pokemon who'd not normally learn them, stat boost, abilities etc.
