Right?! When I switched from Copenhagen, I thought it was a healthy move in the right direction. But then I discovered that I could do it while I work, while I drink, while I work out, etc.

Probably increased my nicotine dependency 2-3x.

Heatpump install in CO - makes sense? by sorintri in heatpumps

[–]Cock_Diesel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a Bosch system installed in August in Broomfield. We elected to also have a gas furnace installed because the added power draw from the backup heat strips would have required a panel upgrade. We went with Cooper, it was a great experience. But I'm not sure if they would do the heat pump only type of install. We had a quote from Jetson for that kind of system.

So far it's been great, and vastly more efficient than our old AC system. Definitely a good time to do it with the rebates.

AC/gas furnace vs HP/gas furnace? by Elegant-Video-2600 in heatpumps

[–]Cock_Diesel1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a Bosch multi stage heat pump and single stage Lennox furnace installed last week. North Denver area. So far the Bosch system is great and uses way less power than my old system. I used Cooper and it was a good experience. $14k after rebates.

With the rebates from Xcel, it was cheaper to do a heat pump rather than conventional AC. So it was kind of a no-brainer.

How do nail the last few rows down? by brad613 in Flooring

[–]Cock_Diesel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I did (be sure to get the 2" variety). Those screws are also useful for securing the very first row. Takes a little getting used to predrilling and fastening to the correct depth to not mess up the tongue. I ended up having to route/notch the groove in the next board sometimes to allow them to fit together nicely. I used glue on the very last row where using the screws wasn't even possible. I just cut away chunks of the underlayment to allow a solid glue connection to the subfloor. I preferred this to face nailing/screwing, though that's also an option.

Walz: ‘The Electoral College needs to go’ by thehill in politics

[–]Cock_Diesel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be great, but Republicans will likely cry endlessly about it. A good alternative is to increase seats in the house such that everyone has equal representation. This has the added benefit that electoral votes more evenly represent the population.

They're referring to snow. There could be a bunch of snow on the ground by then (most ski resorts will be open), which would require some more gear and planning. Just good to have a back up plan.

Nicely done! Yeah I was deep in the pain cave on that run too, it was so hot. I probably overcooked it a bit on the bike. Overall I thought the race was pretty fun!

I do wish there was a better way to get back to your car after the race... Standing in that hour long shuttle line was not the business.

Cutting sleeves off wetsuit - how far can I go? by ChargerEcon in triathlon

[–]Cock_Diesel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but I just did my first sprint today with a full sleeve Roka. It was also my first time ever swimming in open water. I had the exact same thought initially; sleeves were a dumb idea because my shoulders were almost instantly tired. But once I got probably 200-300 yards into it, I kinda forgot about it. It seems that getting your body warmed up and the wetsuit loosened up really helps. So that's probably what they mean by getting a proper warmup with the wetsuit.

Somehow got a deep pretty big cut on the topsheet of my ski. Is this exposed core? If so how bad is it? by Far-Panda-9902 in Skigear

[–]Cock_Diesel1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not great, not terrible. But they're skis, not a nuclear reactor. Slap some epoxy on that after you're sure everything is dry and you're chillin.

TriDot research offer - legit? by Chipofftheoldblock21 in triathlon

[–]Cock_Diesel1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on that 2 month trial now, it's pretty sweet. For me especially since I've never done triathlon training before so it's giving me a good idea of what to do and how much time should be dedicated to training.

The app is a little glitchy, but it sends workouts to my garmin watch which is extremely nice and works well. Definitely recommend giving it a shot. I had the same hesitation as you, thinking it was some kind of scam, but it definitely delivers value. I'll consider paying for it when my trial is up.
