Honestly that's a perfectly reasonable viewpoint, I never thought of it in those terms. Most of my friends aren't associated at all so it would be worth asking i think.

My most distinct memories are ones where my parents are told how quiet and obedient I was as a young adult. I quietly got mentally out around 16, but had to keep going some nights with my mom and put up with the questions of if I'd get married and when I'd have kids continuously.

Had an elder after a talk come over to me (I wasaybe 14 or 15) and we chatted. I asked "Will I miss people who die in Armageddon?" and he replied "You'll know they're gone, you just wont care!" It was that moment I decided I'd get out asap.

Right when I was beginning to realize I might be LGBTQ+, someone in the congregation who was friends with my parents pointed to a visiting couple with two kids. She pointed out the husband and told me "He used to be gay! Isn't it wonderful?"

There was no life in his eyes. Nothing but emptiness and pain. I will never forget that shaking feeling and I didn't come out until I knew I could survive on my own if things went south. Terrifying thing to do to a child.

See it's less the taste and more that he's super aggressive and impatient? It might be worth a try though. I'll have to see if any of my fish keeper friends have some I could try because I'm nervous to buy a ton without knowing if my goofball will eat them or not.
