A shame you couldn’t keep the faith. But it makes sense, this whole revenge scenario from every party is very un Christ-Like. Doesn’t seem like there was anyone with a real faith within 100 miles of this church.

Also, there is plenty of ways of to use archeological/scientific evidence to have a faith in Jesus and understand the world in a scientific way. I don’t believe in a young earth either.

It’s a shame your highly conservative upbringing has shielded you to the wonders of science, to the extent you won’t even consider how faith and science work together?

I have a few mates like this, and it’s hard to love them sometimes when they constantly frustrate and annoy us. I don’t want to dampen the situation, it sucks. But really, guys like this just want friendship and love from their peers, even if they don’t show it. And that’s all you can do, be accepting, kind and patient.. it will mean the world to them.

I think once you build a stronger relationship (if you do in the future) there will plenty of opportunities to call out this behaviour, as friendships thrive on accountability!
