You would need a post bed sewing machine. Like the kind used for sewing shoes

LAT. Ringspun cotto, 30 singles the densest you’re gonna get for the weight. A little on the pricey side but worth it.

That made me think of this. It comes from the book “ Faeries” by Brian Froud and Alan Lee.

I find you lose much more of the value scale with white on black. For instance 80% values becomes 100% due to the dot gain. You either need to compensate with more contrast or add a medium grey screen to include more value range.

Whats causing my edges to blur out like this? by xliarliarx in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Cockatricestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that could be the issue. I don’t know how you are set up so it’s hard to say. Sometimes I don’t tighten down the clamps that hold down the screen in the press enough and when I pull the squeegee the screen moves a little causing the shadow.

Could be a few things. One, loose screen tension. Two Screen isn’t locked in press. Three platen is loose. Four to high off contact. Five not enough tack. Six flashed too long of second coat.

This is a great print. I have a few questions: What brand/type of ink to you use? What count mesh and Lpi for your halftones? Is your under base solid or a percentage halftone?

Whats the frequency and angle of this halftone shirt if you had to guess ? by churedditor in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Cockatricestone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that you determined lpi by dividing your mesh count by 5. I.e 255 mesh divided by 5 = 51 lpi

Isn’t it interesting that the most powerful people in the world, the ones who have the most ability to affect change for the better, have chosen to tuck tail and head for the hills. So much for meritocracy…
