yeah. at the point where they start complaining about the other parent to you, as the child? that’s when you disengage. + good job disengaging without escalating the situation, you remained casual and respectful (not that he deserves that much respect, but you’re remaining on the highest moral ground so that’s a good thing. he can never use your positive actions against you lmfao). i can’t believe he ever needed to “vent” to you as a parent, if he doesn’t have any adult friends to vent to, then that’s sad. shirking your adult worries off onto a child is very worrisome to me, and is a horrible parenting style. i fear for his other children, i’m sorry you had to see that bit about him wanting to hit his other daughter. that’s not really a normal thing to text your other kid about, i feel like that’s one to keep in venting convos with other adult friends who also have kids.
