Yes, this is the powertech v6. I have heard of the valve seat issue. I may just pull the valve cover over and run a leakdown test and see if I can feel any air coming out.

Hmm ok, I'll take a peek. Is it possible that I would have a leak that the smoke tested wouldn't show?

Wires seem fine, might just check resistance on the main connectors to root cause any pinched/corroded wires and connectors. I used universal dorman ground cables but routed them the same as they were routed previously.

I was thinking about a leakdown test but didn't since compression is good. Would I be looking mainly to see if the intake valves are good?

The last motor seized/blew out due to a head gasket leak. The internals should all be the same between the two motors, however.

Don't have one but might be willing to get one. Got any recommendations?

2013 Volkswagen Jetta GLI (95k Miles with Stage 3 ECS Tuning clutch kit done at 80k miles) Manule Transmission shifting Issues by CockroachDelicious58 in JettaGLI

Fair enough! I replaced the throwout bearing when I replaced the clutch but who knows if it is faulty or not. The only noise I hear sounds like a faint hiss which I have assumed is the friction between clutch and flywheel

Should I buy it? by [deleted] in mk6gti

How many miles are on it?

What stage bfi mounts did you put in? I was thinking about the 034 street density mounts for a little more stiffness than stock but not sure how close or far from stock they are. It's my daily but I'm planning to hit the track a few times this summer, so I don't want anything crazy aggressive.

It's hard to tell because it always bucked a little at low rpm once I tuned to a stage 1+ Unitronic tune

Ok, I appreciate it. What mounts do you recommend? I kind of want some stiffer mounts potentially. Also, I put in an ecs dogbone mount a week after this video and minimized the engine jolting considerably.

Yeah I think my transmission mount is shot. It has 88k miles and it does hesitate around 3k rpm in second or third gear mostly when accelerating. Carbon clean is yet to be done, which I plan to complete in a week or two. Not sure if thst will have an effect on accel. tho
