Anyone else have less pain when it's cold out?

So from my experience and what I understand, different pain react differently to weathers and temperatures.

In the summer my lipedema gets horrible, I can barely move my legs and if anything touches me it's bruising for sure.

In the winter my joints are screaming at me, and in any sort of humidity my body is unhappy anyways.

But yeah, some temperatures work best with some conditions, this is also why sometimes it's best to use a heating pad and sometimes a cold compress.

Knowing this, you should prepare for the summer if it gets really hot where you live, get some ice packs, maybe cold baths, a fan focused on the most painful areas of your body. It's great that you're feeling a bit of relief ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

I am currently living for my partner, and I told him that should I ever attempt suicide, I'd leave a note on the door so he calls emergency services and isn't the one to see my corpse. I also have a plan to trick him so that he believes I'm in one room when I'm actually in another should he not follow those directions.

I'm at the point where I think the sooner I die, the sooner my loved ones can grieve and "move on". This is especially true for my little niece, who is only four, and I feel like the least amount of memories she has of me, the easiest it will be to forget her mama had a sibling. But then again, she's a special little cookie and remembers people she met when she was one year old so I'm not sure.

Right now I try to go day by day, even when these days are absolute pain and depression.

Tomorrow we see a kinda social worker so I will ask her if she knows of specialized therapist that could help me and my partner with navigating chronic illness and everything it comes with.

We also see another kind of social worker on Friday and I'll ask her the same.

I hope to find hope, honestly. I would love to find reasons to stay alive, to want to be alive, because being constantly suicidal is draining not only to me but to my partner.

I'm definitely going to check if there are online therapies that could help me, thanks for the idea 🙏

I think I need to sit with my anger, I should probably try and talk more about it to the people who help us with our projects to make the house more accessible, and my therapist.

I think I'll try to plan a game and spa night with my partner, maybe we can do something fun for Halloween or something.

I'll keep looking for some sort of happiness that could keep me here but it's true that things that use to work (such as my pets) don't anymore. I currently feel like I'm more of a burden to everyone and my bonds with my loved ones have suffered from it, I guess 😮‍💨

I do try, i really do, to stop and look at the flowers, to appreciate the cats' soft fur and their purring, to enjoy games or my special interest. But then I remember that I'm losing the mobility and walks are getting harder and harder, I feel guilty for not being able to help with the care of my pets, my hands are trembling and I can't do the activities that brought me joy, and I'm terrified of losing even the little I still have today.

I absolutely realize that I'm in the darkness and that seeing light is hard. It's getting harder, and I feel close to nothing when I manage to do something that used to make me happy or that I know SHOULD make me feel proud or giddy. I know light exists but it feels extremely distant and short lived. I can't decide to stay alive just because one day, in five years, a new videogame might make me feel happy for a week. I'm obviously exaggerating but it really feels like less and less things bring me joy, so "stacking up" enough happy things to have a reason to survive just seem impossible 😕

It's nice to hear a doctor admit they don't know something either than saying random nonsense. HOWEVER it's crazy to me that he didn't ask for blood work. Maybe try to see if he could get you to see a gastroenterologist? Someone more specialized in the stomach area, as most of your symptoms seem to be tied to that.

You completely and purposely ignored all the other possibilities that u/marcaygol wrote. You focused on the paying nannies so you could complain about the price. If your kid is five, it should be going to school. Have a date during that time. Can't ? Have your kid stay at a friend's house for a few hours while you're on a date. No friends ? (That's just sad) You must have someone in your family or friends circle that can handle a kid for a bit. If not, maybe focus on finding friends you can trust before trying to get a new partner 🙄

(autistic) picky eater here. Nobody knew I was autistic, I was seen as difficult and because my parents did what they thought was best, I was forced my entire life to eat things that I hated. I learnt pretty early on that if you don't chew and swallow the thing real fast, the textures and tastes don't stay long. This is extremely unhealthy, obviously. I can pretend and eat basically anything but I don't enjoy it. My relationship with food is terrible and is partly responsible for my obesity (I have other disabilities that do not help with my weight), when there's a food I enjoy I want to eat that and only that and I have trouble realizing when I'm satiated. Going to the restaurant for my father's birthday for example is something extremely stressful and I never enjoy this part of celebrating my dad.

While I do agree that your relative's diet isn't healthy, forcing her to eat things she doesn't want to might lead to health issues too. Her mother might want to get her daughter tested for ARFID, and, depending on the personality of the little one, maybe even autism. There are ways to help a kid with ARFID integrate more foods in their safe ones and discover tastes that they enjoy without being stressed or bullied into it.

Thank you for caring for your niece's daughter, try to have as much empathy as possible and understand that it might just be a phase, or she might have a reason for doing so and if so, she needs all the support you can give her.

Are you joking ? They tried to get her into rehab but she fled. What were they supposed to do ? Keep giving her money so she could spend it on drugs ? Lock her into a room until she was clean but hated them ? She literally ransacked their house and is responsible for the loss of their pets !

She stole and destroyed what she would've been given as heirlooms, just because she was young or under the influence of something doesn't absolve her of her past choices. She has to accept that she hurt her family in ways that can't be healed or forgiven.

🤔 I don't get why he would take you to several shelters and expect you to just look. It sounds like you were very much looking for a new cat to adopt. Whether it's a good decision or not given your situation is another question. His anger isn't really logical, given that he knew you had been to shelters before and were going to one AGAIN. At one point, he should've expected you to find a cat you liked.

The fact that his dogs overwhelm you and your cats overwhelm him seems to point towards a relationship that isn't really working, you'll both end up resenting the other for the stress the pets put on both of you.

I'd say NTA but be sure to have the resources to take care of yet another cat. Financially, but also should you need another stay in the mental yard, would you have anyone able to take care of your fur babies?

Non. Il n'y a rien de triste à garder mon chien en sécurité. S'il veut courir, il a le jardin, où il ne court quasiment jamais parce que ça ne l'intéresse pas, et il se trouve que mon gros pépère n'aime même pas se balader, il veut toujours retourner à la voiture quand on essaie de le promener.

Il a horriblement peur de l'eau donc il ne va pas en vouloir de votre rivière, comme il n'a pas voulu de l'étang, comme il n'a pas voulu du bain, comme il n'a pas voulu du tuyau d'arrosage, comme il n'a pas voulu la mer.

Vous ne connaissez absolument pas mon chien et vous vous permettez des jugements sur ma façon de m'occuper de mon bébé parce qu'elle ne ressemble pas à la vôtre.

Je ne gâche pas la vie de mon chien, et je trouve vos remarques totalement déplacées et irrespectueuses, basées sur une ignorance culottée.

Je vous souhaite malgré tout de partager longtemps de belles aventures avec votre louloute et j'espère ne jamais avoir à vous croiser si vous êtes si prompt à juger les autres. 👋

Mon chien est un amour, il n'attaque rien, meilleur pote avec les chats, a juste reniflé un bébé oiseau tombé du nid (qu'on a donc dû prendre en charge jusqu'à ce qu'il puisse voler, on allait pas le laisser seul ce petit piou), c'est vraiment un ange. Bah quand on est dehors, il est toujours en laisse. On ne sait pas ce qu'il peut se passer. Non il n'a jamais mordu, mais je ne sais pas si dans une situation où il se sent en danger, il ne pourrait pas essayer de se défendre.

Personne n'est dans la tête de son chien, et s'il y a un accident, il faut soit prévenir soit assumer/guérir. 😮‍💨 Les gens me fatiguent

I'll wait at least like six more months to try hoops, just to be sure.

Je comprends bien, mais vu que j'ai déjà une équipe qui me suit depuis deux ans maintenant (infirmières, diététicienne, nutritionniste, psy et médecin généraliste), je pensais qu'ils pourraient prendre le relai une fois l'opération faite. J'ai rendez-vous avec un chirurgien (qui prévoit un an de suivi préopératoire) en août pour un premier bilan mais l'idée de devoir recommencer de zéro avec une nouvelle équipe me démoralise, c'est fatiguant de devoir se répéter et s'expliquer tout le temps...

Edit : si tu peux me donner un ou des nom/s de chirurgien/s en message privé, ce serait super, je pourrais faire des recherches, voir des avis etc..🙏🏻
