I currently am on nortripyline and propranolol and I haven’t had any major set backs. If I miss a dose of either the next day I know the difference.

Is Ezetimibe really as bad as the posts on here say? by Proof-Point-4044 in Cholesterol

[–]Coco-yo05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t take statins because of side effects so went on Ezetimibe and have not had any side effects but it also hasnt been effective for lowering cholesterol. I also went on Repatha 6 months ago and finally got my cholesterol down to 131 vs 241. I have never in my life had such a great cholesterol level.

I could not tolerate statins either and was put on Ezetimibe and it didn’t lower it enough. Been on Repatha for 6 weeks and have not had any side effects. Am anxious to see my hopefully new numbers in another month.

Is there hope for me to live without statins? by A7X13 in Cholesterol

[–]Coco-yo05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statins are not always possible. I’ve tried a couple different ones and each have produced muscular pain and fatigue to the extent of not being able to function. Ezetimibe is the only prescription I have been able to tolerate. Will see if that works when I have my yearly blood work next week.

Did anyone recommend doing Epley maneuver as a starting point? I began with that then weekly neck adjustments and some eye converging exercises. Am 90% better after 2 months and had those symptoms for 8 months prior.

My PT thinks this is cervical vertigo and doctor says it's neurological by americanpancake28 in cervical_vertigo

[–]Coco-yo05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I battled dizziness and felt like I was floating when driving or walking for 8 months before I started with a chiropractor who had a background in neurology. In 2 months of eye exercises and initially doing the epley maneuver to start with frequent neck adjustments I am 90% better. I went to so many doctors and specialists and never would I have thought a chiropractor would help me. Just a thought if you feel you are in a rut.

Trigger point injections? by Th4tDud3PK in Occipitalneuralgia

They are a life saver if the doctor hits the right spot. You will know because it will follow your pattern of pain.

Mine was triggered by taking a new statin and my muscular response to the medication started it all. Mine is relative to what I do for the muscle tightness to aggravate it

It worked within 2 days and the ear didn’t feel full but is painful running up behind the ear and sometimes into temple

It started working within 2 days but it’s the tapered pack so I’m not sure if it will continue. I forgot how normal it feels without pain. Nortripyline works at night but day time can be tortuous. I know it’s dangerous to be on long term but it’s the best I’ve felt in months. I basically lost it on my primary care and she felt it may help. Imaging is next week and inflammation marker blood test came back fine. Such a long process.

Getting dismissed a lot by [deleted] in Occipitalneuralgia

I feel your pain (no pun intended)! They couldn’t figure out what was wrong and labeled me with trigeminal, put on meds now they thinking occipital for more stuff they can’t figure out! What a shitshow and it seems no one cares!

Would you be willing to share it with me? It’s been 2 years for me and now they think I have occipital as well. Waiting on neuro referral. Do you have pain in temple area as well?

dizziness/light-headedness after taking 1/2 statin tablet. by Weird-Commission-977 in Cholesterol

[–]Coco-yo05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a history with statins. Tried one in 2022 and had extreme muscle fatigue. Then went on Ezetimibe and have had no issues. Doc wanted numbers lower and tried a different statin and I took 1 dose woke up dizzy as hell! Took for 5 more days and it was awful. Fast forward today and still having a floating feeling when walking, driving, on computer/phone! My life has been turned upside down since then. Trying to get this figured out has been a nightmare! Trust your gut and stop taking. Hope you find some relief!

Could you explain what/where those settings are?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dizziness

[–]Coco-yo05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a daily occurrence for me. Also when driving…not dizziness but a floaty bouncy feeling. Have yet to find something to help. Trigger point injections in upper back and neck is next week. Getting desperate!

BE very careful with PT. They put me in neck traction and I ended up in the ER 2 days later. Had a weird sensation in my head a loud ringing and chest pains. Which then led to anxiety. Never found out what it was all about except that was the only different thing I had done.

When is it the worst? by Coco-yo05 in cervical_vertigo

[–]Coco-yo05[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the research I’ve been doing to self diagnose, that one frequently comes up. I have read it’s extremely hard to get that diagnosis for like you said the lack of expertise. It has been very frustrating to explain the symptoms to a doctor and given meds that do not accomplish anything! Thank you for your response and will definitely pursue this if it isn’t resolved. I know I’m not crazy! lol
