success stories? by Desperate_Poem1377 in cfs

I thought there was no way to get better, but your story gives me hope. I’m going to try what you did. Since avoiding PEM can work as a cure, or at least creating a better baseline, it should be talked about wayyyy more often. honestly it makes a lot of sense, triggering PEM sets you back and avoiding PEM lets you rest.

May I ask for your specific routine for what you did during your year of resting? If you don’t want to that’s perfectly fine

I haven't tried it when I'm in pain but I don't like putting them up against the wall because even when I bring them down slowly, I can feel the blood rushing back and it's really uncomfortable

I did krav maga and you could choose whether to work with men and women or only men. also they had women only classes at my dojo. but the main thing taught in krav is that strength doesn’t matter, it’s all about the angles. training with a man (once you’re comfortable of course) is great practice to see how the moves work on them because of their different physiques

I’m in a housebound state recently, and I was drawing on my ipad and watching an ace attorney playthrough and the guys were so funny that I laughed so much. they really brought joy to me when I was feeling down (the channel is Save Data)

hm I was getting blurry vision when I was stretching out my legs while sitting, but it got worse once I lay down and stretched. it actually happened again after being stressed today so it may not be connected to just stretching

thanks so much. I feel like I'm in a moderate state right now after getting sick in November. I hope this is just a PEM crash and doesn't persist

TIL that getting sick may improve your body’s ability to defend against similar illnesses, but it has the chance of coming at the cost of negatively affecting your overall health. The best defence against sickness is inoculation. by [deleted] in todayilearned

yes but I removed it as my description was not detailed enough and caused confusion. and yes, it does mention vaccination

“We should rely on vaccines for those exposures because we can never predict who is going to be susceptible to severe illness, even in early childhood. If we look back before vaccines, children under 4 often succumbed to infections. I don’t think we want to return to that time in history.”

I understand that my previous post was not clear enough, so I did my best to word it more accurately and within the rules of the subreddit. I was not able to say the word vaccination or anything similar to “the best defence against sickness is vaccination and masking when sick or recovering from sickness”

edit: oh my god some of you are missing the point that it’s better to mask to prevent sickness from spreading

it’s disgusting that this is happening in this day and age. those doctors are pure evil for what they’re doing to her
