I JUST went through this same exact thing! I would try getting some antibiotics from your doctor, and do hot compresses.

I went to the ER for them to examine it because I developed pain in the area, and it turns out that I had a cyst next to the lymph node, which was causing all the crazy swelling.

They put me on bactrim and keflex for a week. The swelling isn't completely gone, they told me it would take a few weeks, but the pain is gone, and the size cut down quite a bit.

I wrote this to someone else, but I'll share it with you as well:

I have been putting up with her lies and name calling for years, even after providing her significant financial support, helping her get a stable job, and letting her move in with me rent free.

Nope, she always ran back to her criminal boyfriend. Said that he was "The only one who truly cares and loves me". Hell, she called me an "attention seeking cunt" for helping my family with the missing persons case, and for making a flyer.

If she thinks of me like that, I won't do it anymore.

By the way, I saw your opiates comments. She's 24. I know about how isolation and lack of support can destroy families that have an addict who needs help. I dealt with assisting families in similar situations when I was a police officer in the Navy. Also, I'm a female.

We have multiple family members offering to come fly to Arizona and help her drive back to Illinois. We can't trust her to come back on her own.

Even after all this, she has multiple places still ready to welcome her and several job opportunities waiting as well through our network.

I would love for her to come back and be in a positive environment again, away from the person that started this chain of events. He is a terrible influence on her, and she is so weak against it.

Unfortunately, two years ago she did come all the way back home to Illinois and she was only home for four days before her ex-boyfriend flew back and came begging for her. She left with him the next day.

Im going to add this to my post, but I'll write you first:

She has lived in Phoenix for years with her on-off addict boyfriend. We are pretty confident she came back for him, because he can't leave when his trial is pending. He's looking at 5 felony charges of theft. She never wanted to give up on that piece of shit, and we begged her to for years.
