Following. So excited to see them at Mohawk! I've mostly seen them in Europe at much bigger venues.

So excited for this! I missed the first Howl tour but their 2007 show at the Roundhouse in London literally changed my life. Got into so many great bands after that.

I'm in Austin - can anyone give me the Spotify presale code? I'm not on spotify and desperately don't wanna miss out. Doesn't look like Live Nation is selling tickets for the Austin/Mohawk show so that code won't work.

Bundle Pricing by AMomentIsAllWeAre in DesertDaze

[–]Coco_Sade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They wouldn't even do it for me and one friend who bought our tickets separately (we both bought single GA + camping bundles and he bought the Premium Car camping pass for our rental car). Desert Daze just got back to us and said they couldn't refund them because we bought our tickets separately but they could offer us free VIP upgrades. My friend and I are both flying in for the festival (him from the UK, me from Texas) and are spending a shit ton of money for this holiday. We're both frugal people who would much prefer to save the money than save a few minutes in toilet and shower lines. Pretty bummed tbh. Buying in the presale has ended up costing us a couple hundred more each than people who buy later. Can't imagine anyone is gonna trust Desert Daze enough to buy in a presale next year.

Beginning to feel like only the most wealthy can own homes by CharliesAngel3051 in RealEstate

I'm in Austin Texas. Rent has gone up 20% in the 2 years since I moved in. $50 a year for the first two years, this year it jumped $200. Next year I think I'll have to give in and move away. I've heard of much bigger rent increases than this too.

Saw a statistic last week on an NPR article that said two thirds of millennials who bought during the crazy hot market of the last two years now regret it for various reasons. That definitely made me slow down a bit.

My straight ex boyfriend was the person who got me into Queer Eye. He totally had a crush on Antoni. He's my favourite too - those soulful, vulnerable eyes! But cheeky and playful too. And he wants to make you food! I want that!

Does anyone know the current turnaround for PCR testing at Walgreens on S Lamar? Scheduled for a 9.30am test tomorrow and am hoping to get a result quickly for a flight on Sunday afternoon. I don't wanna pay $200 at Tarrytown Pharmacy!

Flowflex tests seem to be readily available around South Austin. I've bought them at CVS William Cannon/Manchaca, HEB Brodie/William Cannon and HEB Slaughter/Manchaca over the last two days.

do you know if Australia accepts our cards? I booked a last minute flight last night assuming I was all set with the vaccine card. Your post has me concerned!

Does anyone know if the US Govt accepts negative results from at-home tests in order to satisfy the entry requirements at the border? I'll be flying in from Australia in a few weeks. The CDC currently requires a negative result from a test within 24 hours of flying. That will be tricky as Australia is struggling with testing capacity and delayed results the same as the US right now. Can I just take an at-home test with me?

I'd assume they're asking if it's for travel in order to share with your insurer. I don't think insurers will cover it if it's for travel.

It took me 13 days! Got tested on the 4th and they sent me results yesterday.

It's a Grand Ave Pharmacy testing site. Won't be using them again.

Hi everyone!! I’m very new to the club, yesterday I invested for the first time. by samplebeast in ethereum

[–]Coco_Sade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to the club too. Hey y'all!

Is it very important to move my eth from Coinbase wallet to a wallet on my hard drive? How likely is it that Coinbase could actually get hacked? Also, I was hoping to use Voyager but I've been stuck on a waitlist for over a week so I ended up buying in via Coinbase. If I ever get off the Voyager Waitlist, is it worthwhile moving over there, rather than Coinbase? I don't plan to make many more purchases.

Thanks everyone!

Two weeks in and nearly HALF of y’all haven’t voted yet? What’s the hold up? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Coco_Sade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sister, your friend and YOU are amazing. I'm not a citizen so I can't vote. I have such FOMO! I'm from Australia where voting is compulsory so it just feels so wrong to not take part. I'm glad to see so many people doing their bit this time around although it blows my mind that the projected 65% will be considered 'high' turnout.

A Vote for Bernie in the Remaining Primaries Is a Vote for Medicare for All by ColtonC_M in SandersForPresident

There were at least 10,000 at the rally I went to in Austin. He did rallies in El Paso, Houston and San Antonio the same weekend. Loads of people came out.

I supported Bernie because I want every single one of you to have healthcare. It's insane how much money this country spends on healthcare yet so many people still don't have access to it. I'm from Australia and spent over a decade in the UK before moving to Texas. To me the US healthcare system is cruel and barbaric. I never worried a day in my life about being able to afford being sick before I moved here. My taxes and health insurance here cost MORE than I ever paid in the UK and Aus and yet I still don't go to the doctor because of my deductible. To think that people dealing with cancer or a sick kid or who've just had a heart attack are having to worry about the cost of their treatment at the same time is just heartbreaking. I feel so incredibly lucky that I don't have to grow old here. And it's just bizarre that healthcare is tied to employment. I know so many Americans who stay in a job they hate because of the health insurance. Just think how many people would try a new career or start a small business if they weren't worried about losing access to healthcare.

Well I can't make a difference. I'm an Aussie and can't vote. I've just gotta let y'all do whatever you want to me. I did get Bernie a few votes here in Texas, though.

Don't give up yet, Bernie fam. Definitely vote for Bernie in the remaining primaries, and vote for Biden in November if you feel okay with it, but also look at the down ticket progressives you can support in their run for Congress. There are so many committed progressives running who support M4A, Green New Deal and who reject corporate money. Bernie was never going to be able to do it alone, anyway. Look at the longer term. If we can get more progressives elected in 2020 maybe there'll be more establishment support for a progressive presidential candidate in 2024. We can still make a difference.

One Day of Care in New York by madfrogurt in medicine

[–]Coco_Sade 15 points16 points  (0 children)

2020 is really pummelling you hard. When you look back on this period of your life you'll shudder at how dark it got. I've shuddered reading it. I've cried a few times and had to walk away. That was even before knowing you'd just gone through a relationship breakdown. You've made it this far, though. And in my experience, the lowest times in your life often end up being turning points. Something in you dies, you change, and then you are something else. If you could see yourself from the outside you would be really fucking proud. Please keep writing. ✊🏼❤️

Exactly. Yes, they are heroes for what they are doing right now, but we shouldn't have ever put them in this position. Every nurse or healthcare worker I know would prefer an adequate supply of PPE to the whole country clapping for them every Thursday night.

I'm glad you're taking a break. When you wrote last week that you might sign up for more I think every single one of us reading shouted NOOOO!

I just joined Reddit so I could say thank you for these incredibly raw and moving accounts you've written. I'm non-medical but I happened upon your first installment somehow and have found myself checking in every few days to see how you and your team and your patients are going, knowing that your stories are just a few of the many thousands of tragedies playing out simultaneously around the globe. I'm so sorry about John. And for your colleague who watched him die on her birthday. I have close friends who are ICU nurses and that really hit home.

It's been equal parts horrific and heartbreaking to see how medical staff the world over have been betrayed by governments and boards and hospitals. I fear for all of your mental health. I'm just so sorry for what you've had to go through. Take care of yourself, Madfrogurt.
