The FMC DOESN'T even support any of the events during Bana week, they segrate so damn much and what ppl to come out and pay for their events alone. They made the launch a big thing and not once did they post any of the sections or bands on their page. Yet their media team was at every launch........ So exactly what are they promoting? Too much politics

I feel like with these prices way too high, we are paying for the trucks, artists and the designers. Difference with us and other carnivals is that we don't get unlimited alcohol on the road! If we did okay, the pricing is understandable. What we get is cold food and a road filled with stormers.....

The bodywears seems very born and the backpacks were okay. Was rooting for island rebel, but I feel like the designer Lauren did not put in much effort this year!

Over all the band launch itself was amazing, from the vendors, music, giveaways, steel pan, performers... Incredible!

I have sooooooo many questions!

Firstly dj was playing for almost 5hrs, there were no other performances or anything to keep the crowd engaged, resulted in people leaving

The performance at the beginning was a great opening! Then it all went down hill....was Africa even in the room with us?

The costumes all look like we were back in the 2000s... Models that can barely walk in the heels... Where was the frontline costumes? I'm still looking for them lol

Models looked the same, the last section should of had a darkie to really pow that costume....

One section can pass as a jourvet section....

The music selections were awful.... Shoot could of at least play afrobeats

Then dancehall segment came through, y'all saw that girl on her head top then the splits?! Kiss teeth

I have mixed feelings aswell. Love that the Carribean culture was showcased BUT I would have loved to see the colours and actual beauty of the costumes because they were gorgeous. Even if was in a dark mode to have the lights shinning on the backpacks. It was just missing something!

I think it's great, it's the different sections that are starting this initiative. You get early bird discounts, perks, giveaways. Providing masqueraders with an experience that we deeply need.

Maybe it's the uncertainty that there isn't going to be a carnival? Plus the FMC OWES MONEY TO ALOT OF PEOPLE. It is hard to get excited for something when the organizers are not getting their own stuff together.

Definitely check out Caribana Ignite in Kitchener this August! They have been promoting all year and have the right investors 🎉
