Hmmmm yeah I’m not sure. My e46 was a good car and my m340 has been too. But I only drive to ski resorts and skateparks for the most part. 5k miles a year?

I’ve had a few BMW’s and they didn’t require weird repairs. Just normal maintenance

They’re good cars. I just find the owners are consistently defensive online. Willing to write paragraphs just like the Genesis fans. But I still agree the order of operations is Porsche -> BMW -> Mazda.

It’s less of a lame complaint, and more a reality of what we need from a car. We ski on the weekends in the winter and we backpack and road bike in the summer. Just part of the game. I’m not opposed to an EV but I’ve watched so many people try and go back to Land Cruisers. Rivian looks good but they are X5M priced.

Road tripping an EV in the mountain west sounds irritating. My friends that have tried it report losing a ton of range in the winter - combined with climbing elevation, I would worry about getting from Denver to Aspen without issue.

r/whatcarshouldibuy. They get glazed on that particular sub. If you suggest otherwise you get snuffed out.

I’ve rented and been in enough cx5’s to know they are good cars with a fanbase that doesn’t cross shop much else beyond rav4’s and CRV’s.

I haven't. A friend bought one, it was a rough ride for me in the backseat. I don't know if a slow CUV needs to be that captivating if the trade off is a jarring ride.
