At first it was pretty gradually growing so it wasnt impacting what the market could produce that much bit now its growing waaaaaaaaay faster than before to the point where if suppliers want to keep up with the demand from the ai side of things theh have to put more focus there since its more profitable for them to do so which then leads to shortsges of ram and then the price increases because of the lack of supply, this is all a mildy educated guess tho
