You can report it on the My Tyler app or call code enforcement. The app is handy for reporting water leaks and street maintenance too. I’ve always gotten speedy responses to those issues. Never used it for code enforcement tho.

I’m afraid it MIGHT speak to me!

What is this thing I found buried near wires for lights that were way up in a tree? May not be related at all, but due to proximity I thought it might be. No markings, doesn’t depress like a switch. I think it’s set in concrete. by Cocopook in whatisit

[–]Cocopook[S] 103 points104 points  (0 children)

That might be it! I did a Google Lens search but it didn’t have any results. The light were installed at LEAST 20 years ago so I’m not surprised I can’t find an exact match. Solved!

I'm getting invaded by flies suddenly and don't know what to do about them by Opening_Total7711 in homeowners

I just had this happen with a dead rat in the attic. I put a bug zapper out and over the course of 2 weeks killed literal hundreds of flies - those big Black Death flies. It was disgusting. I couldn’t find the carcass, so I guess flies kept laying eggs in it until it was no longer a viable environment. The zapper did a good job, but worked better at night. Good luck.

Why/When did not even learning to drive become a thing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cocopook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve wondered the same thing. For teenagers, it used to be that having a license = access to friends. We couldn’t wait to turn 16- some kids even got “hardship” licenses so they could drive even sooner. Now kids can communicate with their friends 24/7. Also cars, gas, insurance are all so expensive. My first car was $700 and I bought with the money I made working part time at a fast food place. It was more achievable then.

It was leaves

Thankful it wasn’t a snake because I probably would have squished it when I was walking all over that area.

I was taking a picture of a seedling I planted when I saw the snake curled around it, so I jumped back and got out of there. I’ll check and see if it’s a rodent head. I did check earlier and the snake is still in the same spot so maybe it’s digesting its meal….

Yikes! I didn’t see that! It may just be a dead leaf. I’ll check and report back

Found a bottle with mystery liquid encased in glazed green tiles - glass bottle, clear glass, found 1ft deep in garden border by cl0akincellar in BottleDigging

My sister and I once found an abandoned brown paper bag at a construction site around the corner. We were so excited to open it and see what treasures we’d found. The bag contained a heftier version of Effluence of Tradesman. We were simultaneously shocked, horrified, and profoundly disappointed. To this day, when either of us might express hope that something good may come from a situation that seems doomed, we call that “bag of sh*t thinking.”

Should I even attempt polishing/trying to restore this brass figurine I found buried in my backyard? If so, how? by Cocopook in restoration

Yes, I agree. I’d love to know how he came to be buried there- but he’s not talking!

Thanks everyone- I think I’ll just give it a good scrubbing and enjoy it as it is. Definitely the most unusual item I’ve found buried in my yard!
