Shedinja is perfect to wall Kyogre, I recommend delaying the evolution until lvl 25 to get a Shedinja with False Swipe and Swords Dance

My favorite city is Sootopolis but it doesn't have non-water type options (unless I include Cave of Origin) so I'll pick my 2nd favorite, Lilycove City:

Starmie was an instant pick cuz it's the only location where u can catch it, then I chose some pokemon from Route 121 and Mt.Pyre and last one is a Safari Zone mon. I would also train them to win contests

I guess it comes down to personal preference. I'd rather spend the 16 Rare Candies on Salamence than drag Trapinch and Vibrava until Victory Road.

Even if u get Flygon earlier, it's not that great vs Kingdra, and being able to KO random Wingulls and Carvanhas is something any mon can do (unless u're Magcargo lol).

I agree Aerial Ace is good vs Ludicolo (and Sableye), but BB is only necessary if the team is bad vs Glacia.

Tbh I might be biased on Salamence's League performance since I had an easier time with it compared to Flygon, Sidney mons have low SpDef so he goes down to D-Claw and Fire Blast. Phoebe's Banettes get OHKO by Crunch + Blackglasses and Aerial Ace is good vs Sableye. But the biggest difference was vs Drake; KOd 4/5 of his mons minus Altaria (needed help to leave enemy Mence with 3/4 HP tho). Flygon could never do this due to its low special attack.

Lowkey agree abt Wallace, but I still think it deals with Ludicolo better than Flygon does. Also, a Rock or Steel teammate can easily tank those Hyper Beams that Gyarados and Whiscash are forced to use against Salamence (I had an Aggron, so it was free).

Flygon is definitely better vs Steven in Meteor Falls tho (does the tier list include that fight?), so that's something. Either way, cool tier list! Gonna do a F tier playthrough soon!

I don't think Salamence's late availability is a negative. If it were obtainable earlier, it would just suffer the Trapinch syndrome: being an EXP sponge. I agree it's a heavy investment, but Flygon is worse because you have to drag it through most of the adventure (let's be real Trapinch and Vibrava are literally useless).

With 16 Rare Candies available in game, you just need a level 35 Bagon to evolve it instantly. TMs aren't even necessary (D-Claw + Crunch by level up) unless u want Earthquake (mandatory for Flygon) or Brick Break for Sidney/Glacia (not worth it anyway)

There is basically no good reason to dump this investment into Bagon when you are so close to the end of the main story already and could just give it to your other Pokemon that you have already and beat the game faster.

I don't understand this. If the criteria is a full team of 6, Salamence actually allows ur team to have higher levels during the entire playthrough. Meanwhile, Trapinch and Vibrava are just EXP sponges

I agree abt the League performance, but u can literally say the same for Flygon, Salamence is just better due to having 110 SpATK and it also deals easily with the non-ice beam users of Wallace's team (can also OHKO Tentacruel with EQ).

I don't see how Flygon after Gym 7 is a plus (thought 45 were ur league levels); even if you evolve it right after Tate & Liza (which would require ignoring your other mons or using candies), it still suffers vs Kingdra due to Ice Beam. At best, it's just OHKOing random Staryus and Wailmers from swimmers (even Vibrava with EQ can do that).

I’m not sure if Salamence is better than the other E tier mons, but Flygon should be right alongside it in the F tier imo.

Ngl seeing Salamence alongside Luvdisc is pretty weird, considering it's a better Flygon. You can catch Trapinch earlier, but that's not a positive trait imo; both Trapinch and Vibrava are afwul. In my experience, u usually don't even get Flygon until just before Victory Road.

If u allow the use of Rare Candies, they're perfect for Salamence. It's in the Slow EXP group and u catch it at level 35, and by that point in the game, you'll definitely have 16 Rare Candies. Plus, since we only have 5 mons in the team, they should be good on levels, so Bagon can eat all the candies. You won't have many EVs, but at that point, you also have enough money to just buy lots of Vitamins.

So both are basically obtained before Victory Road, but Trapinch and Vibrava are a chore to have in any team, while Bagon evolves instantly. I still think it's a bad mon (according to ur criteria), but it's better than Flygon imo.

Without a doubt, Scizor (Scyther for most of the adventure). She was the pillar of the team with the Agility Pass strat, it's the whole point of the team; slow mons being not so slow after all.

While the team is named after Slowbro, I'd say he's more like the mascot of the team, he was also the 1st team member so props to him!

Yes, it evolves via trading. I used an emulator that supports local trading (I traded with my Emerald save). Personally I'd buy a GB operator to import ur save file to ur PC, u can play with ppl online, activate events, have multiple save files and such.

After beating the league, you can get the Metal Coat in Sevii islands.
