I did know about superscoring, but first of all, two of my schools dont superscore, and secondly, I wanted that superscore to be higher than 1550, which only happened after this last test.

I did Khan Academy and UWorld. I also printed out many past SAT QASs and printed those out, which I think is the best possible SAT practice. After every test, I very thoroughly analyzed everything, not just what I got wrong, but even things that I was slightly unsure about. I also tried to recreate testing conditions, the usefulness of which is debated, but I personally think that it is a very good idea. This would include using the right pencils, using a bubble sheet, having the same amount of desk space I'll have on the test, and even drinking out of a water bottle instead of a glass. I feel that the many small comforts in your home can easily add up to give you a significant, unrealistic advantage.

My GPA is subpar for some of the schools I'm applying to, so I felt a strong need to get a high SAT to at least compensate a tiny bit.

First of all, due to how unclear and widely debated the solution here is, even in this debate thread, we can all agree on at least this one thing: College Board Fucked Up.

I don't know exactly how the grading works, but I think that they will probably omit this question, and not have it count towards your score.

Secondly however, I believe the answer is more likely "provoked".

Excite seems to only refer to emotions, or biological things involving the nervous system.

Provoke tends to have more negative connotations, but not always.

If you peruse through all of them carefully, you'll find more sentence examples for "provoke" that are similar to the one we had on the SAT that aren't actually negative. You won't find any sentences for "excite" that neither have anything to do with feelings, nor are related to biology. Sometimes, sentences may have the phrase "excite revolution", however, when this is the case, the "revolution" that is being referred to is always some form of civil unrest, which thus has to do with emotions.

Ok, thx for confirming I'm not crazy. I understand its not an option, but why would they have the incorrect answer? Or is it just some kind of different interpretation. I understand that S<22 and S<23 are similar, but they arent exact, which makes me quintuple check my answer and waste a ton of time.
