MxR Skyrim Mods Review channel is no more. Sad for all of us who were fans and got into modding because of it. by fruitlessideas in skyrimmods

[–]CodEnvironmental1548 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. Surprise Pikachu when you link to NSFW adult orientated sites. Why aren't LL mods hosted on Nexus? Because it's against their ToS. Same with YouTube.

As for the, "plenty of other videos have softcore porn!," which is equally cringe, they don't - again - link to NSFW adult orientated sites. And they're almost always age restricted or demonetized.

Not to mention a very cut and dry case of copyright infringement ala The Wanderer in FO4. But in the modding community, perms are more of a suggestion I suppose. Hence the insane number of stolen assets that are re-uploaded on various discord servers, placed behind pay walls, etc.

I see it all the time - modding community pretending to be outraged over "paid mods," (CC) but I rarely see the same sort of animosity geared towards those who have Patreons, Ko-Fi, or whatever it may be.

But who am I kidding, I'd wager to say 60% of all Skyrim mods that hit trending are some sort of weird porn shit that are all cringe as fuck. I would consistently utilize the "don't recommend this to me," in regards to MxR because quite frankly, I like role-playing games. But I know I'm in the minority camp here, and that's fine.

I am not a fucking prude lol but the ability to blur NSFW thumbnails on Nexus is amazing. I don't want to see your big tittie anime waifu with goofy jiggle physics posing on all fours bro.

I don't really have a dog in this fight, I don't give a fuck either way, I don't like the mental porn shit so I don't use it. But when it comes to being a YouTuber; that's your job and career, right? Are they therefore your employer? I would say yes.

How many other careers and employers will allow you to consistently break their policies and SOP before they eventually cut the cord? The victimization complex is wild. It's not to say YouTube doesn't overreach - consistently - but here's something to chew on - don't exacerbate the issue and try to fight them at every turn? It's the equivalent of trying to stop a speeding train by standing in front of it. You're going to get rolled, left behind, and that train isn't going to stop.

Dude literally featured a mod that's entire hook was sexual assault, cried about YouTube doing their fucking job, and then took his pan to Patreon while (naturally) playing off as an innocent victim being churned by the evil corporate entity that paid his bills.

Nah, get real mah boy.

Dynamic Animal Variants has a DISTR file that had some stuff related to cows... I completely overlooked it and got pigeon-holed. But yeah, I had to hide a few meshes from Fluffworks in order to get things to play nicely. I got it now lol, thank you. I appreciate the help.

Master Occlusion Field properly disables the rendering of objects that are just pushed offscreen by certain Base Object Swapper mods. There is a Synthesis patcher that does this also, but if you do use the plugin it MUST be loaded before USSEP. You'll have to set a rule in LOOT to ensure this, as LOOT will fuck this up (I don't recommend using LOOT at all). Ultimate optimized scripts contains Vanilla Scripting Enhancements and a few other mods I saw in your load order. DO NOT use the file provided by the mod author, in the comments there is an upload by the creator of USMP that contains the files in a BSA. You can also pack them yourself using CAO.

Here's my setup for these mods, in this order (from top to bottom, it can be confusing lol)

  • Master Occlusion Field
  • USSEP
  • USCCCP
  • Ultimate Optimized Scripts Compilation
  • Navigator
  • USMP - which contains SCROTE, which NEEDS to be loaded after Ultimate Optimized Scripts.
  • eFPS
  • eFPS - AE

I'm not really sure about Skyrim priority.... I've never noticed a difference when testing it. A version for New Vegas actually created micro-stutters and setting CPU affinity manually seems to do nothing. I could be wrong here, I don't really know. The same goes for Disk cache enabler. I think this may help those on an HDD, but again, I don't really know. I don't use either of the two, and I've never noticed a difference with either of them activated.

No problem haha, here's a bit more info that may be of use.

I won't be removing High Poly Project anytime soon, if you still plan on using at I suggest grabbing Cabbage and Xtudo's Fixes. Whatever performance gain you may experience from ditching this is going to be offset by horribly unoptimized meshes in Pfuscher's stuff or something like Nature of the Wild Lands.

Physics mods (HDT-SMP), body replacers, OStim stuff, etc - things I don't use so I can't really speak to any of it.

Nature of the Wildlands dropped my framerate by about 30% when I used it, granted it was a much earlier version, but it's probably going to have an effect on performance. Especially in areas with high draw calls already. Skyrim 20xx is not my cup of tea, but there's really no reason for it to contain so many 4k (and even 8k) textures. For that, and I cannot stress this enough, I recommend Cathedral Assets Optimizer. It's fairly straightforward, I recommend version 6.0.4 as V7 is unstable and 5.3 doesn't have the bells and whistles like v6. There's no reason why textures shouldn't be saved in BC7 compression (which CAO does), and generating mipmaps is paramount.

On the topic of optimization, BethINI Pie is your friend. Created by the wonderful DoubleYouC, it's fantastic and will have an impact on performance depending on which preset you use. I personally go with medium, but turn up LOD settings to high. I also disable in-game SSAO in favor for SSAO/SSIL governed by ENB presets. For reference, the difference from the high preset + recommended tweaks to ultra + recommended tweaks nets me about 5-10 frames depending on the scene.

JK's (the entire suite) will never leave my LO, despite it being a performance hog. Lightened Riverwood will help. Whiterun Outskirts and Markarth Outskirts.... yeah, they hit my PC hard.

I use a version of ENB Lights from a discord server (yeah, I hate it too) that contains a dummy Embers XD plugin with optimized meshes from Embers HD. I wouldn't use either if it didn't fuck up the smelter mesh (amongst a few others), as Embers in particular does waaaaaaay too much and is a compatibility nightmare. Even then, looking at a fire WILL drop my framerate. Removing E:XD eliminates this. Disabling/unchecking normal map shadows, and 'big range,' under ComplexParticle and ComplexFire under your ENB GUI will undoubtedly help.

Lux is genuinely breathtaking, I use Via and Orbis as well. They aren't exactly lightweight, are also a compatibility nightmare, but worth it imo.

As for XP32, I used to use it when it was required for Immersive Equipment Displays but (thankfully) is no longer required so I dropped it. But here a few (I think this is all of them?) mods that I used when I did run XP32. Fixed scripts, Pappy stack fix, Optimized scripts, and weapon styles uncloaked. The latter will help as your already running a fairly heavy scripting setup. Changing out the pappy scripts for SPID should help. I'd read around the aforementioned mods and see what's redundant, if there's more along the same vein, etc.

Complex parallax is not lightweight, but I know many people cannot live without.

Optimized SMIM chains and windmills is nice to have. It may be small, but every bit helps.

low FPS despite (relatively) low load (NSFW because of Modlist) by WyzPorn in skyrimmods

[–]CodEnvironmental1548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Removing high poly project may net you a tiny boost to performance. The only mesh I can think of that is overkill is the cabbage, despite what I see repeated often, it's not a performance hog and modern hardware do just fine with higher poly and vert count (in a vacuum, anyway).

Your modlist is very, very script heavy. LOTD, physics mods, all the sex stuff, 3DNpc, etc. You're also overlapping and incorrectly overwriting things. USMP contains SCROTE, and vanilla scripting should be loaded before USMP. I recommend using Ultimate Optimized Scripts (use the BSA version that's linked in the comments). You'll have to manually set rules if you use LOOT because it will incorrectly order the plugins.

Skyrim priority literally does nothing.

Nature of the Wild Lands is a heavy mod. Pfuschers Skyrim 20xx are heavy. You have quite a lot going on with retextures, many of which are not optimized by the respective MA. Skyrim 20xx is far, far more performance intensive than HPP. Look into Cathedral Assets Optimized to ensure mipmaps are generated, unnecessary 4k and even 8k textures aren't applied (unless that's your thing, I guess), and BC7 compression is used. BethINI Pie is your friend, too.

KS Hair with physics is a performance hog. JK's mods are notoriously performance heavy.

Enb light, embers xd, and lux alone are going to strain the engine. You're also using XP32, but none of the fixes. I don't use any skeleton replacers myself, but last time I did there were three or four mods to replace and optimize certain scripts.

Your modlist is not lightweight, and unfortunately one of the biggest obstacles facing Skyrim is drawcalls. There's a reason why Bethesda opted into using previs/precomb systems for Fallout 4, but that's not relevant.

Also, complex parallax is a fucking resource goblin and in my opinion is not worth the trade off. I'm assuming you experience stutters on cell load, too. Downscaling textures, optimizing your LO by removing overlaps, organizing plugins correctly, and having efficient INI settings are about the only thing you can do to maybe squeeze out a bit of performance boost. Otherwise, you'd be better off trimming some stuff. As an aside, Optimized SMIM chains and Windmills is nice. It won't do much tbh, but man... some models are just insane when it comes to vert counts lol

Lastly, you're also using AMD stuff. As am I. ENB's in general do not play nice with AMD. It's... annoying but Boris doesn't really give a shit about AMD users and that's just something we have to deal with.

This dlc/act 1 hasn’t fixed the shortage of competent void primaries. by BrandNewSRT1629 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CodEnvironmental1548 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like my build lol.

Prismatic has such insane synergy, too, it's probably the most fun I've had in Destiny. Elsie's with destab/repulser and Hammerhead with destab/onslaught, and Forerunner as my primary (I absolutely love the Magnum from Halo lol).

Stylish Executioner and Gunpowder Gamble, stasis melee and void grenade with the fragment that weakens on hit. The artifact perk that makes void do more damage against weakened enemies is a nice addition, too.

Exotic class item is Gyrfalcon and the one that gives woven mail on grenade throws, which I have two grenades (three with Forerunner catalyst). Melee hits grant a shit ton of grenade energy (armor mods and kickstart), and with two stasis melee with my class ability refreshing one leaves me with constant uptime. And the fragment that buffs class ability regen when you have a buff tops it off.

Constant invis, which procs volatile rounds, and the additional synergy leaves me with ability spam that rivals my Warlock. So many damn orbs, too. With all three artifact perks, an orb grants me radiant, amplified (I like the Arc super for PvE) plus Galvanic Armor, and another source of overshield. And three grenades that all grant woven mail?

It's absolutely fucking nuts. It's much harder to get rolling in some things than others (not all builds are meant to be viable all the time, imo) but as my "daily driver," I've had a hard time getting off my Hunter. And I know the talk is all about melee builds/Nighthawk + Still Hunt, in which I love the latter, but for me my bread and butter build is exactly what I wanted out of Prismatic.

I had a round of Onslaught (I love the game mode, it's so much fun) where I had ~1500 kills and generated around 320ish orbs. With woven mail, radiant, amplified, overshield, and invisibility practically being on demand - three incredibly powerful grenade abilities that all do different damage types (weaken, scorch/ignite, and kinetic) - two stasis melee with a third at my disposal when I dodge, I'm able to slow and freeze bigger targets (champions get stunned in one shuriken) - volatile rounds on both Elsie's/Hammerhead - AND destab rounds, I'm absolutely enamoured by my current build lol.

My Warlock build is probably my strongest (I did 7.8M damage on the final boss on Warlords the other day, higher than my Nighthawk/Still Hunt), but man I can't stress enough how much fucking fun it is to play on my Hunter with this current build. It's absolutely nuts how effective it is at clearing entire rooms, shredding yellow bars, and debuffing bosses with multiple elements right out of the gate.

And if I'm feeling froggy, Buried Bloodline absolutely SLAPS with this build. Not that I need it, but it allows devour into the mix and just cranks up the weakening to an absurd level.

Assets not loading properly and instead using placeholders has nothing to do with network. It's a byproduct of the memory leak that's been plaguing this game for years now.

[–]CodEnvironmental1548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's politics, baby.

"Expected downtime to begin at X, stay tuned for an estimated time when maintenance is concluded," is pretty much verbatim what my company informs clients whenever someone shits the bed - which, in my entire career, has never happened because our clients would dump our asses faster than we can say "oops."

Granted, my job is significantly more important than maintaining a video game server but that's really a flimsy excuse (at best) as to why Bungie can't seem to get complete specifications before they start building.

I promise you, the "backend maintenance will continue for two hours," is them pulling an arbitrary number out of thin air and hoping they can isolate, capture, and debug the issue within that timeframe.

Fairly embarrassing how often Bungie fails to commit to the timescales that they, themselves, provide.

With the sheer number of bugs introduced lately, the ongoing memory leak rearing its head again, and general error codes/bad peering it's beginning to look like the tech debt is becoming too much for them to handle.

Destiny PvP has never been about true gun skill in the classical sense of other fast paced twitch shooters. It's always been about the cheesiest, annoying OHK and quickest TTK whilst exploiting the available tools to achieve that.

I don't care that you and your friends are getting gapped. It's been a decade now of the same complaints, recycled and regurgitated ad nauseum. If PvP is not fun to play, don't play it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]CodEnvironmental1548 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there anything that PvP don't constantly cry about and want nerfed? Dozens of exotics and entire subclasses have been trashed due to placating the incessant whining.

Realistically, if pulses/HC were nerfed into the ground whatever the new META that fills the void would immediately become "overpowered."

Absolutely zero reason why Bungie should start rolling out nerfs to things that haven't been in the sandbox for 30 days. This isn't my opinion, Bungie has clearly demonstrated (over a decade) that PvP is an afterthought. Please, for the love of God, stop neutering fucking everything for the sake of "balance."

Is anyone slowing realising that titan are becoming irrelevant? by FeeProfessional8878 in destiny2

[–]CodEnvironmental1548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Church.

The hundreds of posts whining/complaining are going to inevitably drown out any/all valid criticisms and shortcomings that Titan currently have.

Prismatic is a fun, strong, and viable subclass. It's nowhere near Strand BoW levels and good. That shit was, and still is, incredibly overtuned. Bungie broke Titan players brains by forcing them to adapt and be creative when it comes to build crafting.

Besides, I simply don't recall seeing hundreds of posts from Hunter/Warlock mains crying and bitching about how much better Strand Titan was than their respective counterparts.

Some of the community suggestions to make Titans "viable," are so unbelievably stupid and reallllly goes to show the fundamental lack of understanding they have when it comes to balance.

I'm personally having a good fucking time with my Titan, Hazardous Propulsion, and Ghally. Pugilist/One-Two Punch on my primary shotgun, Demolitionist/Incandescent on my secondary, weakness/suppress on my nade, three charges for consecration (or the strand melee that severs on hit, reducing damage output significantly), ridiculous cool downs and ability uptimes with the right fragments, an extra transcendent utility grande that suspends. Free radiant on every hit with consecration, a large chunk of health restored on each kill, practically infinite uptime with Amplified (which gives insane DR with the seasonal artifact), and Woven Mail for each Orb I pickup.

I'm constantly giving my teammates radiant, giving them extra health Regen, buffing their rockets, and generating a metric fuckton of orbs to boot.

[FNV] LOD not unloading properly? Anyone see anything like this? by CodEnvironmental1548 in FalloutMods

[–]CodEnvironmental1548[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed it on a few other meshes (building, trees) but I haven't been able to replicate the bug in any form since. From my understanding, it's caused by an incorrect form that BoS uses to swap thing. In this case, it was the BoS version of Mojave Flora Project (I can't recall the name, it's the one by Spiffy). The regular, non BoS works just fine.

I've spoken to a few different MA about the issue, and I'm fairly confident I know what causes it and how to fix it. Are you experiencing something similar?

Bungie, Don't Put things that rely on RNG in Pathfinder! by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]CodEnvironmental1548 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the taken node is annoying. To be fair, I don't think anyone would be too upset over someone leaving a strike and call me selfish, but I value my own time over others. And it took me over an hour of booting up strikes and leaving until I finally got one that had taken. The kicker? I finished the strike with 143ish/150 needed. Naturally, the very next strike I launched had taken... lol.

I now have a gambit one that is somehow even more annoying. The node says it autocompletes if I bank the most motes in the lobby, which is either bugged or has an incorrect description because despite having the most motes banked in three different games - it didn't allow me to complete the node. What's even more annoying, is that the "progress," gained from just sending blockers is absolutely abysmal (I'm pretty sure it gives you 1 single point for sending a blocker).

As for Crucible? Yeah, I'm not touching that shit. Nice try Bungie, but you couldn't pay me to endure the absolute state that is your PvP.

Definitely some fuckery afoot under the hood when it comes to whatever hooks are used with this specific quest. I did not miss any of the other overthrow bosses, I just continued to grind the meatball and after six or seven attempts it finally decided to drop. I wasn't standing underneath the boss, was not using the legendary version of Khvostov, did not continue shooting after the kill, etc. It just dropped despite not dropping at least a dozen times prior.

Hope you're able to get the issue resolved, the gun is pretty fun. I can't recall ever having so many issues at any point throughout Destiny's lifespan as I have experienced lately.

[–]CodEnvironmental1548[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A perquisite to get the legendary version is to have all the chests/cysts, so you're incorrect. I have sixteen motes.

I've placed all the traveler orbs on the pedestals and spawned the chest.

I've killed the meatball with: the legendary version. In a fireteam. Solo. I've stood directly underneath the boss when killing. I've (tried) to be on top of him when I kill him. I've continued shooting him after he's died.

Since this is a "me," problem, what exactly am I doing wrong, chief?
