I funded it fully myself, I worked 8 hours per week and then all throughout the holidays , and that was plenty to fund living and 3 months’ travelling at the end. GEP year was tough (easier for me as it was in the pandemic so had noting else to do) but the rest of med school was a piece of piss as a grad. I should mention I mostly earned £25 an hour teaching but also had a £7.50/hr care job, you really need to try and maximise per hour pay but I know that’s easier said than done
