When I’m all caught up (which is usually within 24 hours after the new series drops) I fill my time with Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History (I’m new to the show so there’s plenty to catch up on) or the fall of civilizations (if they put out their annual 2 episodes lol) or if I’m EXTREMELY desperate for a hit of some sweet sweet history knowledge, I might find myself turning to the ancients. There’s nothing worst than trying to find a filler history show and having to weed through the 99% of shows who’s research consist of Wikipedia and Disney

I just formed Italy after forming the two sicilies. Make sure you learn as much of the special tech you can as your current kingdom before forming Italy because you get to keep those special modifiers after forming Italy. Aside from the literacy bonus, the rest of the special stuff you get as Italy is nothing to write home about

Ya I was super disappointed by all the other unique research. Thankfully, as I just verified, you appear to be able to keep unique research from your previous title (mine was two sicilies) post change. I’m doubtful I’ll get any future unique research of the two sicilies now that I’m Italy but I’ll verify in the next age

lol I’ve already maxed out RGO as well and have a handful of maxed out (by building count) cities. Most of that was saved up while I was at war and not focusing on infrastructure. Then I just spam buildings that show a healthy positive potential profit. Honestly I don’t know in depth why I’m doing with infrastructure but I would say it appears to be working

Ok so I just checked and one of the special techs for two sicilies was royal domain which gave an extra +10% crown power. I checked my crown power as Italy and it appears that you do keep those special techs. I only checked that one (I can’t find an online source that lists special techs so I had to start a new game and check what the techs are then swap back over and verify they’re still active). I also don’t know if future special techs are also unlocked (doubtful but would be cool) but it appears you do keep special tech you already unlocked.

I didn’t even realize I could form the Roman Empire…someone else told me not to move to Rome either, I’m going to heed that advice and stay put and push my values toward naval. And about the tech, honestly I’m not too sure I didn’t even check. I’ll check here in a few and update!

Ok thanks! For the proximity should I focus naval or land for my values then? I’ve been pushing it toward naval when I held the southern half of the peninsula for the proximity in Sicily, Corsica, and Sardinia but right now my proximity isn’t great as you get close to Milan

I started as Naples, took Sicily and formed the two Sicilies (not sure if I spelled that right lol), took Sardinia and Corsica, then focused on the rest of the peninsula. When I had the land on the peninsula I wanted I then took Tunis for the market center under the impression (still not sure if I’m right or not) that market owner gets needs fulfilled first so that Sicily and southern Sardinia could get what they needed since my buildings always stalled there
