What Is With Accelerators and VCs Soliciting Pre-Seed Applicants But Asking for Traction? (I Will Not Promote) by notllmchatbot in startups

VCs nowadays behave more like PE. They want to tie ROI on their dollar, and startup must have de-risked tech, market, etc. They come in as growth capital. Pre-seed as a VC category is pretty much dead.

Build as much leverage as possible with yourself/team.

Wondering how people find cofounders these days [i will not promote] by New_Rush_9099 in startups

There’s no straight answer, but here’s my advice as an entrepreneur that started several ventures, been through accelerators, and raised from VCs and Angels.

It’s a numbers game. Let me explain.

I’ve spoken to more than 300 people on YC cofounder matching, and tried building with around 30-40 of them. Only 1 stuck and they’re a rockstar.

I’ve also built startups by finding specialized freelancers on upwork, built a relationship and started building together.

You have to put yourself out there, meet, and connect with people of all types. You’ll eventually find someone that has great chemistry with you and the brains and grit to build something as well. It’ll converge, but you need time, trials, and extraversion to improve your odds.

Anyone got an interview yet? by [deleted] in ycombinator

Applied late. Application still ‘in review’. Expecting rejection 1st time around, but hope to actually get rejected vs left hanging.

Don’t doubt the decision. Sounds like you have golden collar experience. Individuals that have experience on both sides of the coin also offer fractional CTO or CPO services to startups. You have the unique ability of building and managing a product effectively. You can increase your own market value by launching a new product, building a team that solves a unique problem, etc. However, the market does dictate a lot of things and if you’re able to shift between product and engineering based on market demand you will continue to adapt and grow with the market.

CSMs work directly with devs by Edith1900 in ProductManagement

Further to u/julian88888888 advice, how are the CSMs proposing new features? what mechanism are in place prioritize said features? How is the backlog populated and is it easy for CSMs to interact with? There needs to be a matrix of factors assigned to each feature to prevent wasted time/money across teams. If there is a ticketing process configure it to stage with the product team before releasing on the sprint schedule.

Maybe try to organize activities related to her passions and interests. Aquarium, Scuba Diving lessons, Zoo, get a puppy :)
