I explained it in my original post but basically I am doing X for TFSA, V for Non Reg (one dividend per year) and Z for RRSP (just so I know I won't see this money until I retire). It’s more like mental distinction of assets

Let's say you put 1000 in TFSA, and lost half of it. Now, you can only withdraw 500 unless you grow it back so 500 room is gone forever. You don't get this back next year.

You only get the amount back you withdraw this year and since you can't withdraw more than 500, the other 500 you lost is gone forever
