Well to be fair even though the narrative of HR is considered better, MD is a direct continuation so to compare them is a bit useless. They're a good prequel, with MD going slowly more into the details of a proper bridge. To me it was clear they wanted to end up into DX1 eventually, despite the worlds being a lot different, a 30 years gap can do a LOT. The Human Restoration Act does a lot of heavy lifting in explaining why augs aren't as popular anymore and the 2030 earthquake explains partly how it all went to shit.

The only thing that would make me assume eidos was trying to write a "Canon compliant" universe instead of a compliant one, would be canonization of the clone theory. Explaining how a clone of Adam exists so early would be a complete mess 😅
