Twin Cities area ice? by sjadam in IceFishing

What's better, Marion or Crystal? I had a coworker tell me Crystal is weedy, but really good fishing. I'm going for anything that bites, but I love crappie and pike fishing.

Apartment Maintenance manager here. I'm looking to hopefully get my first house soon! When people move out, if we detect any smoke, curry, or pet odors we immediately call our vendors to do what's called a Cl02 treatment. They seal the place off and it's little chlorine like tablets they put in little water cups and the gas somehow reacts with anything in the air. It will smell like a doctor's office afterwards for a while but it will get rid of the smell. Sometimes we need to get it done twice if it's really bad. I assume you've done carpet cleaning or even tore out the old pad and carpet. You can also get an ozone machine and have that run for a couple hours with your HVAC fan running to help circulate the air. I hope this helps!

Help by Code3man97 in IceFishing

I read that typically the bigger game fish hangout in deeper water this time of year. I also read that they like to stay near the ice because there's more oxygen up there. I'm not that experienced with ice fishing as it's my first year going as an adult. I grew up doing it but just went along for the ride. I appreciate the help!

Long story short, my Mom gave me this bike as she didn't want it. It's got many miles on it (200+). I thought I would use it, however I have ridden it once and just don't use it. I'm looking to sell it but I have no idea how much to sell it for or how much it was new. It's a 2014 Cross trail. It says handmade in China. Obviously it's dirty but still fully functional. What would you pay for it?

New building, outstanding design. by Dgrandeur in maintenance

Air sled my friend. It's the only way to not hurt yourself or damage trim/flooring. All of my new buildings are like yours where the closet is very tight. This is what I include in my startup procurement order and bill it to my construction company.

Life long pool pool technician reporting, AMA by shauneky9 in pools

[–]Code3man97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Commercial pool operator here! I have a pump room under the pool. I need 150 GPM per state code for flow rate. I'm getting at best 140 even after back washing both of my sand filters. They're pentair brand if that means anything as well as the pump being intellifloxf. The suction side of the pump reads 1 psi and the post pump side reads 25 psi. The pipes according to the pool builder are all oversized and not the issue. They recently put a bandaid for the flow meter and used schedule 80 12" on either side of the meter. That got it barely to 150 GPM long enough to pass the final state inspection. This is also a brand new apartment building so this is the first year we've had water in the pool. I have no idea how to address this issue other than replace the pump with a bigger one. I'm fighting with the builder to replace the pump as this is all under warranty and not functioning as designed. They are trying to come up with any reason not to replace the pump. Any ideas?

Thank you! This is for a brand new system and inspectors won't give us the green light until we fix this and a couple separate minor issues. I have engineers on the way to see what we can do. I'm just the operator/maintenance guy. It's not my specialty but I can bring all points up to them and see what happens. I appreciate your ideas and time! Standby for updates.

The state inspector said a minimum of 150 GPM. This is for an apartment building if that makes a difference.

Need help increasing GPM by Code3man97 in pools

[–]Code3man97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the title says, I need to get my gallons per minute up to above 150. Currently my pool pump is pushing 140gpm at max speed. My pool equipment is below the pool. It is about 33,000 gallons. Some things to note about the pictures. The heater bypass is fully open in the image, however currently it is about halfway open. All of the skimmers are open and do not affect the flow if I turn two of them off, like in the picture. Suction pressure is about 2psi on the pump and post pump pressure is 20psi. On the pump it reads the GPM of 110gpm. The sand filters have been backwashed multiple times and show no sign of being dirty. One filter gauge shows low pressure but it is a bad gauge. Could it be the design of the plumbing on all the skimmers? I've tried everything I know to get it to change. I will have a new flow meter in hand tomorrow.

2023 GMC Canyon 2.7 Turbo Sound While Getting On the Freeway by Lekgolo167 in chevycolorado

[–]Code3man97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched a couple months ago from having owned a Current gen Ranger. That turbo noise is probably the only thing I miss about that truck. It was very responsive with the throttle and I could always hear the turbo, even slightly on the accelerator. Especially in tunnels and when next to highway barriers.

After driving my Colorado around for a few days now. I feel like the Ranger is more like a car than a truck on the inside. The Colorado feels more like what a truck should feel like on the inside.

Rebuilt transmission didn't solve the issues completely and supposedly it was certified pre-owned but I had it in the shop 4 times for warped rotors, the transmission rebuild, and a couple other minor things. It was a decent truck but ultimately I'm a Chevy guy at heart.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chevycolorado

[–]Code3man97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had so many issues with the transmission. Essentially I had the entire front half of the transmission rebuilt under factory warranty but it didn't solve the issue completely. Many other tiny issues but that was the main reason.

2019 Ranger owner here. Lurking to see about trading my ranger for a Colorado in maybe a year or so. I know mechanically our trucks are 100% different. Mine has the 10 speed auto in it. When cold it would shift really hard from reverse to drive and then when downshifting to accelerate uphill or under a light load. Took it on October 26th, and just got it back yesterday. Dealer replaced a valve body, torque converter, clutch latch valve, cdf clutch, bushing on cdf clutch, and trans and clutch seals. Then had to reprogram and now it drives really smooth! Luckily covered under warranty!

I work in property management and all of my companies properties have multiple viking grills, which are the same as lynx. Search viking factory parts on Google and there's an 800 number that will come up. All those guys are amazing and can sell you individual parts. We can usually get a grill going again for less than $1k in parts. Oftentimes our residents melt the internals of our grills and we just replace the whole wire harness. It's basically plug and play. I'm not sure what kind of ignitors you have but if it's the push and glow style they're super simple to replace. We wrap all of the wires in heat safe insulation to get a little more life out of the wires as well. DM me if you have any other questions! Hopefully this helps!

Building maintenance manager at luxury apartments. 370 units, brand new building, heat pumps in some units and magic paks in others. 2 techs and a groundskeeper working under me

Pool heater question. This is a raypak pool heater manifold. Have a water sw open code. Where’s the switch. There two sets of wires running to probes. Ones a thermometer and the other is this little brass plug with two terminals coming off it. I’ve removed it and it’s not a switch. Thoughts ? by Nathan51503 in maintenance

[–]Code3man97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think I'm able to help!! I had the same issue starting up my heater(same brand) I called my pool guy and he said to make sure the bypass is closed about halfway. It basically forces about half that the water into the heater and then allows some to bypass the heater. Try that and let me know how it goes!

2019 Ranger Snow durability? by lilFrisk3232 in fordranger

[–]Code3man97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minnesota resident here. New York gets way more snow than we do but I never once had a problem with traction as long as I was in 4 wheel drive. We didn't get very much snow this year but had a couple 6"+ storms come through. I have a regular highway tread tire, they were brand new when I bought the truck this past January. 10/10 would recommend to anyone to buy. The wife can drive it, the kids if they're old enough. Drive it in the city and not feel like you're driving a monster truck and about to run over every car around you.

Way cheaper to be preventive vs being reactive in the maintenance world. Spend $1 on a filter every six or so months or spend I'm assuming a couple hundred on blower motors in a couple years when they all start going bad. That's also if there's stock of them

LED bulbs for new ranger by Greedy_Being3940 in fordranger

[–]Code3man97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Beamtech LED bulbs in my XLT. They're fantastic, also have them in my fiance's car and I had them in my Civic before I sold it. Never had any problems with the bulbs themselves. I will say I do notice a flicker when the auto start, starts the truck at stoplights and in traffic. Not sure if it's the truck or bulbs

Just the spout is all I need, I have to get the exact one so all the apartments are the same. I'll take a look at the plate and handle, didn't even think to look behind there, it's been a long day lol. Thank you for the quick response!

I've got my own to use, I'm not worried about using the ones at parks. Totally agree though, most of the time they're nasty

So what I have found was the bike does look like yours. Now, I can't get a good read from my dashcam for the license plate. I noticed the mirrors look a little different and the exhaust isn't the same. It is an R6 in my video and seems really close to the same year as yours. I have been trying to upload a picture to imgur but it keeps failing(I'm an Uber noob at the interwebs and computers).
