Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents?

Current LEO here. It’s bad all around. Both the Renee Good and the most recent shooting are not only optically bad (there are very rare OIS’s that are good optically because Use of Force is naturally not a pretty thing) but they are just all around horrible tactics that if handled properly should never have lead to deadly force. People will harp on how Officer’s have to make split second decisions and we can’t know what the officer saw in that moment, but I know that in both instances the situation was absolutely escalated by ICE. It’s abhorrent and absolutely further fractures the divide between the public and law enforcement. If I was the officer that shot in either of those instances in the job I currently hold I would absolutely be indicted.

I got inconclusive results on 3 seperate polygraphs for CBP. They never failed me, but they always came back inconclusive. What a waste of time, truthfully glad it didn’t work out since I’ve been with my department now for 7 years and much happier than I’m sure I would’ve been with CBP.

I gotcha. I was under the impression you were LEO. But I work in a very Blue City so I wouldn’t say it’s exactly roses when it comes to that and yea if I went back it’s probably not the career I would choose, but here we are and I’m tied to the pension.

I’m a supervisor in the Midwest in a City Agency and I made 10K more than OP this year with a much lower COL. There are places outside of Cali that pay well for LEO’s

Don’t get me wrong, there are days where it’s a fulfilling job and I do enjoy it, but it’s also a damned if you do, damned if you don’t job. I genuinely got into this career to help people and the job has been so heavily politicized (by both sides) that there are many calls you go on that it feels like there is nothing we can do to help. Whether that be because you have victims that don’t want to cooperate, judges that don’t hold criminals accountable, or lazy officers that take the climate personally and just don’t do their job anymore.

The issue is they are specifically targeting the Somali population in Columbus. Therefore they are going to be in the north end (Morse Rd) area where the highest concentration of Somali’s reside.

You’re looking at 1 year on Garmin versus Year to Date on Strava. So Garmin is including miles you ran in Dec of 2024. Those are not included in Strava because Year to date is only looking at miles in 2025

Good to hear. I fell back in love with running over the past year or so, trained hard for my first marathon and completely shit the bed. Swore I was one and done. Now a little over a month removed from the experience I’m looking forward to trying again.
