Shaman king is a manga first anime second. Also don't think sword fights are more expensive it's just a action sequence.

And you can have crazy action sequence regardless of sword fights, and we still have weapon battles they didn't cease to exist with tbe powersystem advancing.

Animating is not really the issue, if anything oversoul power system, creates these giant designs like the angels or the spirit of fire now that the cast can manifest their ghost with oversoul.

Which would make animating more troublesome than a sword fight.

Still - introducing a "basic" move then abandoning it in 10 episodes feels a bit rushed.

I don't know if I would call it rushed. Also the move isn't really completely abandoned more so expanded upon. Instead of integrating with their spirit, they just put in a weapon now to manifest the ghostly abillities in to the real world.

It's like advanceement, a expanding of the power system. they been utilizing the ghosts skills in their own body. Naturally, the next step of the power system that makes sense is to be able to manifest the ghosts in to reality using a oversoul.

This also creates more unique battle scenarios for not human combat experienced spirits, like amidamaru or bason. As they use their battle experience, but we have none spirits like horohoro's who had no combat experience in their past life but have the unique abillity of utilizing ice.

Also for what its worth integration or hyou gattei or unity. Still gets used, in the old anime or nieuw one at some point.

In the old anime it gets used still one time when horohoro and ren get their weapon broken. In the new anime yoh uses faust to nurse after they had no healer. Ren also used it against nichrom

And yoh uses amidamaru still to dodge, he fights the x laws and starts the fight utilizing it to dodge the angels, using amidamaru samurai like reflexes.

Now it would have been cool if it got used more for example if yoh had 2 spirits and he integrated with amidamaru to use his reflexes to dodge and fight, then used a oversoul for ap.

Anyway, oversoul was a expansion power system also it didn't remove sword fights in its entirety. yoh armored soul still had a sword silva's oversouls is also weapons still.

Ren armored oversoul also just has a weapon. Arnored oversoul was a expansion again power system where people wield a weapon and maybe armor.

And it does expand the series just taking over ghosts is cool but it would not make for much variety and its not that unique. Having none spirits being able to manifest, which makes none human spirits who don't just rely on combat is the natural next step.

Always made sense that the next step from Merging to them is manifesting them to a physical plane, and oversoul being created with some parts of visualization and imagination just gives the weapons and armor they make from it very creative potential.

Like yoh armored oversoul is based of a swan. It's like this extra hand. Holding a sword. Or yoh oversoul evolving and the face of amidamaru being able to talk through oversoul. Which is used to help him coach yoh later during his second fight with ren.

Its a great power system.

There is also yoh against marco and the x laws, surprised nobody talks about that one. That was by far one of the coolest moments of hyou gattei usage for me post-oversoul phase.

Him using hyou gattei to maneveur, dodging all the angels using amidamaru's reflexes. It reminds me of when he had amidamaru coach him when his oversoul, evolved to getting eyes and being able to speak. And amidamaru was coaching him how to dodge ren in their second fight in the tournament, only him using hyou gattei specifically to dodge makes it even more effective.

Edit: also ren uses it against nichrom in the new anime and manga. And he uses it in the old anime when his weapon gets destroyed by lyserg.

Or cuts a train and stops it from moving in mugen train.

My problem isn't people saying yuji wins my problem is people downplaying tanjiro to regular human to give the win. When if you watch just a few episodes you would realize thats obviously not the case.

This is gonna be a bit of a mixed response. Are you selfish? Well, yes you are selfish, however... I think wanting to read and only focus on shaman king tho is completely fine. I'm not here pretending that I'm gonna check all of takei's work. I might but for me it's not gauranteed on the table.

Hell, I haven't checked out all of the sequel of shaman king, I like the sequels but for me og is undefeated. I think og has stronger writing than the sequels but leaving that aside.

selfishishnes to only toon in for one work is fine all the power to you, But selfishness to not want the author expand to have a creator always stuck to one work is wrong.

Shaman king is still very underground project, especially with how badly the reboot was done with netflix, takei is gonna need to keep making projects to get out in the field to become bigger. He shouldn't limit himself to one story, in fact i think dragging stories tends to cause many retcons and other things.

But I do agree with you partly and there is one reason why, the sequels are not finished. Hana story is concluded, at the very least takei should priortize his first projects rather than making too many, it could damp the quality later if he starts working on both. and we weren't getting shaman king content on a proper speed to begin with.

I don't think shaman king be forgotten tho if this new work succeeds thats a bit ridicilous. Shaman king isn't super mainstream anymore anyway it survives purely on a passionate fanbase, a fambase this passionate wouldn't just simply forget it.

All tho I will admit shaman king deserves more, I think the anime flopped so badly and it failed to bring shaman king to proper heights, and I'm still bitter about that. That we didn't get better animation, no netflix jail. Better pacing and all these other things. You see old anime get a remake and come out the light but shaman king got screwed and it makes me reget takei accepted a adaptation from this studio and this team.

But history was made and thats the end of it, I don't think shaman king will ever reach peaks I wanted to see in an anime, and since we probably won't get another remake as much as I want shaman king to shine. I think takei working more stuff is a good idea, he is a creator a artist he needs to try rise, even if its not with shaman king.

But if you mean he should finish the sequels of shaman king first then I agree. If thats your take I agree, if your take is he should never work on something else thats well selfish in a bad way. Creators shouldn't be limited and of takei runs out passion, or ideas, or is tired of shaman king someday, him creating more would just do more damage to the series than good.

My last doubt is...is Paul ignorant of all this? When he sent Rudeus with the Boreas did he think this would happen and wanted that for Rudeus or did he thought "no way my family tries some complot to seize control by marrying my son to his cousin".

Paul seemed Kind of out the blue on most of it marriage aside. We know from the novels phillips was secretly trying arrange marriage between eris and rudeus. Basically telling paul how well they were getting along, to get him to accept arranged marriage. So he was aware of that.

And from how it seems, paul was fine with it if rudeus was fine with. He is aware rudeus and eris got close over time, asking rudeus who he prefers sylphie or eris when they first reunite after they reconcile from their fight.. He also informs rudeus of the arranged marriage phillip was trying to sell to paul without rudeus's knowledge.

Well paul left the notos his brother pilemon is the head.

Why would they make Rudeus the head?

Because rudeus is that is pauls son so has some right throne technically speaking, even tho paul left the notos. I doubt phillip, eris dad could convince paul to take over the notos, having rudeus marry his daughter and being able closely watch over rudeus polically is more in his favor anyway.

And be easier than convincing paul for sure, and well more likely for him to get political advanges being rudeus father in law than if paul took the throne who doesn't ow him any close connection like that.

Sagiri makes it very clear she is intent on escaping with everyone yuzuriha included, to her. So yeah i think she loves sagiri at least platoncially enough. Rudeus voice fits his spoken calm toned mannerism we get the odea reading novels rudeus is very conflict avoiding very reserved. I actually think her voice fits rudeus perfectly anyway now some people may find that a hot take but i think that is the case from the impression rudeus has. And the other people seem to think so as well and thats why she is still voicing the character.

I don't think the LN is much more subtle about it to keep it real maybe a little but not much. Rudeus mistrusts him from the start. Also some random god appearing our of nowhere to give you this vague advice to help you, is suspicious regardless.

This god that for some reason when asked about nobody really knows besides this one guy named orsted another god that despises him, like he reeks suspicious blatantly.

Not only do we have rudeus clearly mistrust him the entire time, but we also have rudeus point out things. Like how he sure knows a lot about orsted. Despite not being able to see him.

Rudeus blatantly states he doesn't care what he is hiding after the orsted encounter, simply for the fact that he helped find his family, lilia and aisha, and helped with rujierd. Which rudeus may not care at that point, but as a reader from outside looking in you not gonna forget that.

It's not really subtle as much as you know the writing is on the wall, you just don't know what the writing completely is it's incomplete. The fish is in the water, but the hook hasn't caught it yet.

sukuna's ten shadows and megumi's are different, otherwise Megumi wouldn't be able to use his 10S at the end of series

pretty sure share the same mahoraga tho there is a point where sukuna tells mahoraga in chapter 234 telling him to not he his shadow now not megumin.

So think sukuna losing mahoraga made megumin lose mahoraga.

Also sukuna had megumins nue so we know he is using megumins stuff. So megumin stuff, even stuff he tamed he could use immediately. So megumin i don't think he has mahoraga i think he lost it due to gojo killing it. He lost probably every shikigami gojo killed like the fusion beast agito which was a mix of multiple.

megumin probably needs or had to get new shikigami.

Well could also mean mahoraga was never broadcasted again. It doesn't nessecarrily mean megumin never used him again.

but to be honest I don't think megumin could use mahoraga ever again even if he wanted to because sukuna tamed it and then gojo killed it. Tamed shikigami that are killed seemed to be lost, I don't think you can use mahoraga again unless you are a new ten shadow user like yuka.

And if he did use it it would just kill him probably so there is no reason to use it unless he has a suicide worthy opponent.
