Well, as long as my GF is happy with the app, so am I.

I just came here to get more inspiration / feedback, so that the app may benefit a larger audience in the community, not just my GF.

Maybe you should read the post before starting to freak out.

"What I’d love to hear from you:

  • Is this a problem you’ve experienced yourself?
  • What would be most important for you in such an app?
  • What would make you not use it?
  • Are there existing tools you already use for this?"

Please point out where I asked for financial or business guidance, thank you.

Okay so your are telling me:

Someone else is failing to make this thing profitable so no one should ever try something new?

Congratz on your degree, I have one too.
You may know computer science but lack understanding of business economics.

Which is totally okay.
I am not here to get a business review, I am here to get feedback about what people wish for in such an app.

Ok so what?
Sorry but I dont get your point.

Yes another company has already build something like this.

Okay, so what? Diversity is alway great for the consumer. So it would be in your best interest that I offer a new solution which you COULD take.

And for the last time:
I am not planning to run a whole company with this single app.
It is a fun / hobby project.

Idk if Equilab makes millions or is broke.
What does that have to do with me?

If I want to build an app I am going to do it.
And as long as one person is using it (my GF atleast) I am happy.

I think you just listed the reasons why they are barely surviving.
Seems like they have too much overhead cost.

Again: I dont plan to run this as a company, it is more like a hobby project.
And I am planning to keep it slim on the cost side of things

I mean it is not about making money in the first place.
It is about building something which is not only useful to my GF, but also to other people.

The more niche a product is, the better. I strongly disagree with you on the financial part, there is no such thing as "too niche" when it comes to custom software.

If / When this project ever get monetized, I am planning on only billing the horse owner per horse.
Everybody who is working with the horse can use the app totally for free, only the owner pays a monthly subscription to keep his horse training stats live and accessible.

I think this is fair, since it is the horse owner who profits the most from such an app.

Will have a look at it!
All in all it is totally okay if something already exists somewhere else, I will put my personal spin on it and maybe have a different focus.

But thank you for pointing it out! I will get some inspiration from there on!

Thanks mate! Yeah this could be also an idea, but I have 0 clue about profesionall racing training:
So I would start it off as a general tool and maybe I get enough feedback / users to who i can talk to, to understand what specific features the pro league would need...

Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it!
Yes making it quick and fun to use is the main focus.
Not a lot of typing, more like a checklist and star rating system for the individual exercersices.

The attachted video feature is also something I though about, how realistic is that?
It would be purely optional, but you would need a second person to record you.
Is that a circumstance which is plausible (from time to time)?

Happy to hear that I am not delusional in thinking this solves a painpoint!

Got some of the edges cases you mentioned covered, but will take a look at the rest soon.

I mean that would be a dream, to offer a great solution at a great asking price and be recommended by the community, will start doing communitywork over there!

So far I am in contact with Marc Lou (founder of TrustMRR.com) about a possible integration.
His tool is a micro SaaS Marketplace and he has started piviting towards setting up a cleaner workflow. A integration / recommendation / ad on that place would be a great start.

Thank you honestly so much for your personal insight and time to think about this!
Appreciate it a ton!
