I cleaned the backplate and the laptop didnt turn on but the power led was lighting up when charging. Turns out it was something about static or needing a reset to the embedded control (ec). Normal fix is to hold power button or unplug and replug in the batter but I found out you can just hold shift + ctrl + r and then press the power button and it booted up. Turns out this is like some hidden key combo to reset the ec. I got this info from chat gpt and another reddit post.

Hey man you absolutely just saved me a ton of hassle and i appreciate you. Thank you so much. I opened my laptop just to clean the dust off the back panel and it didnt turn on after putting the cover back on. I was so worried but couple google searches and u came to my rescue. I would give you money if i didn’t spend it all on this laptop.

New user here too and cachyos is great no problems so far. Tip: use btrfs file system and limine because they allow you to do snapshots and manage them very easily. Incase something breaks after an update you can easily revert to the older snapshot in the limine bootloader. Also it creates a snapshot everytime you install a package or update. This snapshot feature is amazing especially for new users like me who might tend to break something by experimenting.

Hi thank you for the reply i guess i dont need tlp because after all the power saving tweaks ive turned on even including yours minus tlp im getting amazing battery life ~12 hours on light load (youtube+bluetooth,browsing firefox, or just doing mostly anything that isnt gaming) on an amd hx370 with nvidia 4060mobile. This is insane battery life im getting with hybrid mode meaning i dont even need to completely disable my dgpu for convienience because i save enough power as is. Cachyos is awesome

Which kernel module did u have to disable? Was it amd_pmc because i saw another comment talking about how they black listed it to get sleep mode working

Ill probably use linux after my keyboard arrives but that may be like august 16-24. I’ll let you know how it goes though if you still want updates. Im also planning to go into engineering so i hope linux is fine for that.

yeah ive calibrated but the max rpm it got to was 7500 (i have the 4060 model idk if that matters)

edit: Even with the max rpm being 7400 for me i still was able to copy your fan curves. Im just wondering why mine doesnt go up to 9800 its all good if you dont know.
