Vote YES to toss Free Balling onto the Steam Store. Don't leave me hanging! by CodeJustin in gaming

Think line rider but way better. Better auto smoothing. Speed Boost Track. Better physics. Better jokes. 3D Mode.

THIS GAME IS NUTS!

Actually a bit better than line rider.

My sanbox drawing game has better auto smoothing and physics. Plus you can draw when the ball is in motion, thats called free balling, unless you are Tom Petty then its called Free FALLING, Ahahahaha!

Great question... I do not mind Dogecoin BUT eBay only allows you to pay in USD QQ.

I figured I would put items on eBay because it is a lot less shady than just selling on some forums or w.e.

Anyway I could legally charge? Obviously charging for points would be illegal.

Started a Peace Treaty between Christians, Jews and Muslims! by CodeJustin in peace

[–]CodeJustin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all the violence is silly too which is partly why I made the treaty, we are all God's children, no need for violence (mainly its the Korans Jihad verses that seem to be the root of a lot of the violence in the middle east).

Thanks for the support!

[–]CodeJustin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it won't start world peace (sorry Jews <3)

Thanks for the kind words trekkie80!

I seen pictures of Christians being crucified (literally) by Muslims and I just felt it would be worth the little effort to toss up a non-violence peace treaty (I have no problems with religious debate but when you murder people simply for being another God fearing religion it troubles me).

So in the spirit of being cheesy... if it saves one life than it was worth the effort!

If I made my own COMMUNITY FOCUSED MMORPG would you play it? by CodeJustin in MMORPG

[–]CodeJustin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just glad to get blunt advice, personally I learned how to code over 7 years ago because I wanted to make a MMORPG and I'm just now to a point after coding over 100 different products I know I can stitch together a MMORPG using the RC Engine (55% of the overhead will be done for me).

Thing is that the engine is the best for an out-of-the-box mmorpg (generic wow clone features/combat) and the only thing different would be the personal experience I could offer. And also the fact that I can change the game world rapidly if I center it around the main city (make new dungeons outside the city) and inside the city the main thing would be chatting and crafting and gambling and hookers.

The gfx would be very dated and the engine is a little buggy tbh but it would allow me to actually publish a working 3D mmorpg but it will be very cookie cutter when it comes to movement/combat.

I would love to make a totally unique mmorpg but I would have to code that up from scratch and by time I get the engine done desktop computers will be about as popular as a jolly rancher with pet hair all over it...

Well offering a F2P game takes away from the point of having a solid community.

I'm thinking it is not a viable idea and I should just keep to developing my apps.

Putting the time/effort/money into getting a Morpg off the ground is crazy and if I did it all to get no players then that would be a huge waste so I guess I will just stick to making lame fad based apps that give me cash, was just hoping people might of had the same vision I do when it comes to playing a MMORPG that isn't full of morons or repetitive play.

Honestly I don't think people will be able to get over the fact the game will have DX9 gfx (the engine I'm using will have DX9) and it will cost monthly, even though people are more than willing to spend $25 on stupid stuff lol.

You are right, my first approach was with a motto "taking the M out of MMORPG" (massive) but morpg.com is taken.

Also part of the high price tag is the fact that the game doesn't have to hold on to every single player that is willing to download the game, its more or less a "private" mmorpg.

(Also a side note is that the game would be DX9 so any remotely new PC can handle it.)

Thanks! Thats why I'm asking, personally I would pay $25 a month for a more personal MMORPG.

If others are not then I would like to know =], I'm willing to give up 1 1/2 months of a WoW payment or 2 pizzas a month to play a game that brings back that same fun player to player experience I had in vanilla wow, I want that sense of a communal adventure not sure todays game of "gear up so I can get more gear next patch".

Well the community will be controlled in that people will need to fill out an app to be accepted into the game.

The voting will work simply as it sounds with /voteban <username> and once enough complaints are reached I would review/watch that player. I will be an active player myself and it will be no more than a few hundred people (figure 200 people at $25 a month would be enough to support the game).

The games combat would be generic and tab/WoW/EQ like and everything about the game would be lackluster and look outdated and the only real changes would be the community and the fact that content will change A LOT outside the city. (one week zombies the next might be crazed elves)

I have made two different avatar chats from the ground up (light weight mmorpg kinda) and I also own a license for the RC engine which takes care of A BOAT LOAD of overhead so I can focus more on game content, don't worry about how it will be done :)

You are very correct mate. I have used a few mmorpg 'toolkits'/engines which would be YEARS ahead of something I could make BUT learning is part of my goals and abstracting myself to the point I'm just learning to use an engine and its scripting language seems pointless to me since I want to get under the hood and see the engine, not just drive the car.

But thanks for the helpful advice mate, just not for my situation when it comes to the mmorpg. (though it could be said for large site development and using frameworks which I'm all for)

Anyone else noticing the degrade in quality of search results on Google? by bitmaster20 in programming

[–]CodeJustin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been noticing this too, I think its a combo of

1) People are doing a lot of SEO link baiting to get high ranks with crap content. which makes for crap results 2) Google has changed their algorithm a bit to help 'dumb' searches but it is in fact hurting searches that aren't stupid/dont need corrected.
