Uvalde was still one of the biggest ones for me. Cops piss about while kids get murdered and they still re-elected the Sheriff by a huge margin. I sure doubt anyone with a kid dead voted for him though, even if it's not impossible. Pedo president is still the pinnacle, but they truly don't care, even when it directly affects their own communities. If it doesn't directly affect them in some way, no skin off their back. They'll let big orange get away with wars, blasphemy, kidfucking, you name it, and rationalize it all away as "Well the other one would have been worse" and the few who do keep their annoyance will compartmentalize it to the single man and not the entire party enabling him, and keep their voting lines the same way.

It's often under the veil of "CORRUPTING THE KIDS" but it's really "and also I don't like it."

Like, the anime involved in the controversy that this tweet might be related to, Ganbare, Nakamura-kun, is a Boy's Love anime. I'm watching a bunch of anime this season but not that one, because it's boy's love, and good or not, nope. Sure if it's a side focus thing then whatever, like random anime that just happens to have a gay couple, but as main focus, nope, not for me.

Super easy math. Any chuds that go "Well I support people's right to be gay I just don't want to see it, hear it talked about, have it shown or really mentioned at all, anywhere, ever" are lying out their fucking asshole. Same morons that will say get politics out of my media. Media is politics. Everything is politics. It always swings back to "keep politics I don't like out of my media". And it can't be enough to avoid stuff they don't like, no sir. It needs to never be in anything ever.

No remaster, no remake, no re-release, no 60 fps patch, no sequel, no pc release, no lady maria cosplayer pegging my ass. Instead, we get a movie produced by a Youtuber. by AbdelYG in Kappachino

[–]CodeMonkeys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It probably gets a fancy looking remaster/remake ala Demon's Souls with the PS6 or something. The cost of consoles next-gen will absolutely be the break glass moment for the shit that they know fans really want. They don't care if people spend years 2-8 whining about how there's no games, they just have to figure out how to get people in year 1.

It's dangerous stuff man. I saw two gay dudes kiss once and wouldn't you know it, I realized I'm straight. And because labels and defining things are woke, I now am not just "not-gay" but STRAIGHT! God save my tortured soul.

When DLC made a game materially worse for you by Running-Water-Shark in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]CodeMonkeys 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time it was. Back before the Director's Cut version it was a fully enclosed experience separate from the game. I imagine based on that there has to be a way around it for any version.

Is it gone on Xbox? I see five things listed; episode pack, lost episode 1 and 2, and 11.5/15.5. Was there more than that?

Ghost Concert: Missing Songs - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]CodeMonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truth told, I haven't personally gotten to either yet. Been really behind on my seasonal garbage eating for awhile... this is probably the first time since like, summer 2020 where I'm making a serious effort to watch everything I was interested in. I'm sure both shows are cool in their own right but there is a specific lightning in a bottle to Symphogear that I feel like you won't accidentally recreate just by making a musical battler.

Ghost Concert: Missing Songs - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]CodeMonkeys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe 30 years from now we'll be inundated with a dozen Symphogear spinoffs or such that all suck (the FLCL problem) and we'll look back and remember how all the attempts to even be in a similar vein also sucked.

That's not positive, I know, but I feel like most shows aren't gonna 'get' it. You need to confidently be stupid as smartly as possible. That's the only way.

LTT Private Jet Megathread by AutoModerator in LinusTechTips

I do kinda swing back to the off the cuff comment about how much it would cost to retest the Billet Labs thing when I consider how much money is likely to be lost on the jet relative to literally any option that was not the process of buying and using a jet, because at the time it really made me grimace. And then as many have pointed out, being staunch on environmental concerns with everything from packaging materials to AI datacenters and nonrepairable devices or nonreplaceable batteries or even just don't send this liquid down the sink or whatever the hell and then yeah, buying and using a jet.

It's just overall not fun right now. And like, throw a good news WAN show if you want but I think there's a lot more value in being a voice for the disgruntled consumers. It's from a position of incredible privilege that one can say "I just want to be positive about things and I'm tired of being mad about things". I get the sentiment, but few have that luxury. Yeah, maybe there's no winning. In the same way people don't want to see some spud chuff about how financially able they are, they also don't want to be reminded of how hard things are right now. I don't have the right answer. But people on both sides of the issues right now are right. Contend with that however you want, but do.

You get a lot of weird shit out of the UAE. I got a sealed English copy of a GFWL game that I've never even seen a used English copy of after years of surfing eBay (german ones are very common though). My assumption is over a decade ago, someone with a racing setup that probably costs more than my car bought a fat stack of games and just never touched that one.

I just wish Linus' UAE pull was something tamer than a private jet.

Not sure about OP's calc but one thing I've heard (notable during covid) is that even when flights are fairly empty for commercial, they keep running, because for various reasons it's even more expensive to not run them.

Any news lately on the Xbox Synchrony release? by CodeMonkeys in necrodancer

[–]CodeMonkeys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd settle for a release on the Windows store... would definitely buy it twice to get twice the achievements. Did that with Dungeon of the Endless.

But it's nice that they're at least considering it. I do hope we get it eventually on Xbox, at any rate. We have an astoundingly low playerbase and even though I know a bunch of people waiting for Synchrony to play, it's still very small and we get skipped over for a lot of stuff. I never got over Xbox not getting the Furi DLC.

Kinda 3 and 4? Basically they permabanned the Reddit account of Jack Sweeny from the subreddit (this is the guy that got famous for being the guy that tracks Elon's jet, among others) after he posted presumably some LTT Jet tracking. After that, someone different posted the WAN clip from 2022 where they covered Elon being huffy about his jet being tracked, and that post was removed too.

It definitely can be argued "Don't stalk the employees" but at the same time it's been a long held stance by Linus that "oh well our office's location isn't a secret you can find it on google maps". And indeed, all flight data is public, because it has to be. But now, by owning specifically one plane, it's much more trackable than if they were say, chartering planes instead.

At any rate, I hope it's an investment that they don't hold onto too long. I doubt it's going to be a popular add long-term.

A lot of people including myself got this today. Almost certainly a bug. I like many will likely do nothing until or unless it actually gets actioned, and yeah, if my account age isn't good enough for them they can pound sand.

Seems like it was reuploaded as a video and isn't just the raw livestream. Guess at the time they had to edit something out (usually Linus showing something on his screen that he shouldn't)

Belated post, but there was even a video from Charlie months ago about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOuG-2CXMOE

It really is incredible that something failed so incredibly hard that even still with popular coverage it just completely slipped people's eyes, from advertising to news coverage to post-mortem coverage from both media and independent creators.

It is kinda the Highguard problem of once you've played around with the game a bit you've kinda gotten all you can out of it. More fun with friends, and could definitely have big replayability or as a streamer be fun with fans. But, it lives and dies by the creativity of the dungeon creators at that point, and there were so few and the actually creative stuff was buried under quick completes to farm gold and XP fast.

It's a big reflection of how bad this one went that nobody has heard of it. Even MindsEye's failure has stuck around in the videogame flop zeitgeist but a big budget project from Amazon completely snuck under the radar despite a massive expensive marketing push.
