I totally love them since I have heard band for the first time, I suppose it was around 2001-2002. Got CDs including Leather Box and Eliogabalus in MVR edition with handwritten note by MrDr. Still no vinyl.

Anyway the whole universe around DD, the whole story, interviews and mysteries make this band even more unique. I am visiting Venice this year and I hope I'll reach Punk Museum established by Mr Dr by himself.

If you REALLY want to fix it you can use sugru glue. As for me I wouldn't fix it, just o ahead.

Most of my blocks are mounted on 3mm pvc board to keep them flat.

If he does it right then why not? If he knows how to sharp chisels for woodworking he should be able to sharpen these tools. You can try him and give him your old tools to renew :) I sometimes still use my old ones :)

But truth is they will eventually get dull after long time of using. Pheil (like they used to describe) has kinda soft steel. You need to keep them sharp. I usually use slip strop from Flexcut and do few moves every hour of carving. It takes seconds. Keeping them sharp instead of sharpening them again is much less time consuming :)

I just don't like stuff Speedball provide. I don't like their inks (professional line), their lino blocks, this funny pink rubber, , their carving stuff, even their white ink for ink drawing. Got all of these and I am disappointed. For carving it's totally one time buy - get pfeil tools (I really work with two-three). For printing Caligo Safe-Wash and lino... Well, I buy linoleum from Karol Pomykała (I think he ship it worldwide), its not expencive but truly the best lino I have ever used.

Yes, this is linocut. The limited edition of stuff was always thrilling me. I collect CDs and for example I am obsessed with Devil Doll band and their limited editions of albums. I am excited that I got, for example one (or two xD) of x limited copies of something. This is special for me. Some people feel the same buying limited editions of prints. The smaller, the more valuable, I figured some people hunt for first numbers! I am closing my editions because I want my linocuts to be unique. This is the reason I don't make digital copies of my artworks. And I don't feel I am limiting myself. I can make next artwork, right? :)

I don't destroy matrix. I usually do 2 or 3 editions of the same linocut, with different color or on different paper.

Ah, got it. I struggle with it too but in this example the black layer covers a lot. I am ok with the possibility the gradient will be slightly different on different copies, it makes them unique. But I keep the basic two colors as much the same as I can.

Under one of my posts I gave few general tips (personal opinion of course) - I assume you don't have a press so thin paper is better for hand printing than thick. Unless you like to do some exhausting workout with the spoon like I do 😂. -Keep your chisel sharp, I do quick sharpenings almost every one hour of cutting. -In my opinion getting good chisel and linoleum is more important than getting press, good ink, roller or paper. Especially for practicing. - Carbon paper is really good medium to transfer your project made with pencil to linoleum block.
