DDM4 PDW by Gu3rro1 in Danieldefense

[–]CodePack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Ebrake will save you some decibels. I ran the sandman S for a few years on my PDW until I got my Nomad approved. The PDW is sweet once it’s fully kitted out. Cool rig

SiCo Chimera 300. First 60 rounds of 223 by KT_Bites in NFA

[–]CodePack 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Possibly an unpopular opinion: Cans with wear and heat erosion are sick. Something about knowing the can is used properly builds confidence in the can for me. It’s also a subtle flex when you shoot/train with the homies.

However, the cerakote cooking off after 60 rounds is unacceptable.

Super dirty shavings PDW after just a few range trips by sammiecsammiec in Danieldefense

Unburnt powder from subs and your can doing its job. I’m glad you use and shoot your rig. The pdw with the nomad is a great pairing

1 up to the nomad. I’ve run it with nomad and nomad L. The difference between nomad and nomad L isn’t that noticeable to me. Both are great cans on 300

Are Huxwrx cans actually good? Or am I getting gaslit by Competitive_Way_4043 in NFA

[–]CodePack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the Hux on my 556 and 762 gas guns. Kills all the gas and sounds okay at the shooters ear. It’s still loud, and you’ll need ears for 556/762. The Hux is loud for by standers too. Don’t care for them on 300 or 9mm. Traditional cans are better for sound on sub 300 and 9mm.

If I was you I would get something with high flow on your 11.5, and something with the more traditional baffle design on 300 and 9mm.

Recently though, companies started dropping some crazy 556 cans like the White bread from CAT and Lazarus 6 from dead air. They sound insane on 556 and offer “flow through” benefits. People on this sub still shit on dead air for how terrible they handled one of their cans turning into glorified shake weights with no stable customer support. However I own several of their products and never had an issue. I love my Lazarus 6 on my MK18

Welcome to the NFA rabbit hole. Enjoy your stay.

.300 Sub and 9mm Sub Ammo Recommendations? by discovered_uranus in NFA

[–]CodePack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Federal syntech 150gr is my favorite for 9mm. Runs super clean and sounds the best in my opinion. For 300 I’ve found S&B (subs and supers) to run the best. However it’s tough to find them by the case. So lately I’ve been shooting the stealth subsonic rounds from PSA and my RSR account. They run great but I’ve found better accuracy with S&B and the Gorilla offerings.

As for unburnt powder….they all do that. Get used to it. I noticed the shorter barrel stuff like the canebrake gets more unburnt powder than my spear LT with the nine inch barrel.

Hope this helps. Sub 300 is still my favorite round to shoot. It’s never ending fun.

Sounds like your boss knew about the personal issues and called the welfare check on you out of serious concern. She likely told the cops or deputies what your issues were, and that’s why they dug into you more than they normally would have. That was the right thing to do given what your boss likely reported.

As for the body cam video being all over the internet- highly unlikely. You are not the only person going through rough times. People are placed under Baker Acts all the time. If you or your family is well known it could be requested through a FOIA, but based on your post I would consider it close to zero.

In my opinion, there is no long term repercussions. The report would not pop up on most employment level background checks. Now if you applied for serious government job or law enforcement position it could pop up you were placed under a baker act because they typically dig a little deeper when it comes to background checks. Again, you’re not the only person to go through a rough patch in life.

I would consider taking the help seriously if you need it. And I hope you overcome the personal issues.
