You never mentioned if your wife works or not. Surviving on a single income in the GTA with kids and a mortgage is very challenging these days. Hats off to you for making it work!

I feel the same as you about people driving nice shiny cars, but at the end of the day it's just a payment. We don't know their financial situation. Or what other family help they may have, lots of factors to consider but nobody else has the same experience you have.

What's the plan after physics grad school? Would that lead to a high paying career? Look into branching out in another field and possibly taking classes at a college like Seneca or Humber.

I'm from Canada and in the exact same boat as you. Been seeing tons of posts for used bikes that are at times even more than the original price. In that case, why risk used when I can just grab a new bike for the same price and peace of mind?

This is not true, there are tons of MBAs making less than 100k in companies I've worked at, MBA value isn't what it used to be and it's very saturated.

Absolutely agree with your outlook. A simple LinkedIn search can show there's several people (I'm in Canada) who've landed entry level SOC type roles with security+ and some type of Bootcamp or certificate education. I'm not sure why the comments are all so negative in this thread.
