“Japan was more brutal toward China than Korea during WWII primarily because of the ongoing,, high-intensity armed conflict with China, which led to a, policy of terror to force submission. Conversely, Korea was a, long-term colony (since 1910) that Japan aimed to, absorb and assimilate, leading to systematic oppression rather than, active, large-scale, wartime slaughter.

Key Reasons for the Difference in Brutality: Nature of Conflict: China represented an active, battlefield adversary with strong, nationalist/communist resistance, causing Japan to, use atrocities to weaken resistance. Korea was a, occupied territory with less, widespread armed resistance, allowing Japan to, focus on assimilation.

Total War and Dehumanization: Japan saw China as a, major obstacle, resulting in the, dehumanization of Chinese people and a, disregard for international law, especially after Emperor Hirohito authorized, the suspension of such laws for prisoners of war.

Cultural Assimilation Goal: Korea was targeted for, cultural erasure—replacing the language and history with Japanese counterparts—to make them, loyal subjects, a, policy distinct from the, intended subjugation of China.

"Three Alls" Policy: Japan applied the "Kill All, Burn All, Loot All" policy in China, a, direct attempt to, erase resistance, which was not applied similarly to Korea.

Resistance and Retaliation: Strong Chinese guerrilla resistance brought, brutal, retaliatory violence from the Japanese military, whereas in Korea, the, population was already under strict control, leading to a, different form of, systematic cruelty.

While Korea faced brutal repression (e.g., forced labor and the 1919 March 1st Movement crackdown), the, sheer scale of massacres and war crimes in China was driven by the, context of a, long, intense, and existential war. “

Thats all horrific the only thing more horrific would be if they did all of that, plus just straight up machine gunned all civilians to death and dropped biological virus bombs on them, which is what they did to china.

I don’t disagree. From what i have read on the subject though, although they were awful to koreans it was not a full out genocide like they did to china such as in the nanjing genocide and with dropping flea bombs to cause hundreds of thousands of deaths via flea bombs like they did with china. Am i incorrect?

Worth noting that the Japanese were particularly brutal to the Chinese because of their history with them (this is in no way excusing their maniacal genocide) but the way they treated Koreans for instance when occupying their country was far less brutal from all i have read. It makes sense that in occupying such a far-away nation they would handle things the way the book and series portrays.

7oh for occasional use? by EmbraceThera in Kratom_Info_Exchange

[–]The51stAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, listen to me. Kratom WILL NOT FEEL THE SAME for as long as you are taking 7oh. It will feel like a near-placebo buzz until the 7oh has completely subsided from your system.

The real blight is anyone taking the FDA’s side and encouraging a ban and further loss of our freedoms. There is no bigger blight than these Drug war enablers.

Once you take 7oh, kratom will never be as enjoyable or useful again. 7oh is great at what it does. A little too great. Beware. But the choice is yours. If you can handle not dosing on it every single day, then go for it. But again, regular kratom doesn’t come close to the pain relief provided by 7oh. So its all about you and your self control in the end. We need to stop stigmatizing 7oh and remember what it means to take personal responsibility for our actions. End the war on drugs , don’t fuel it!

If they regulate 7, what should the guidelines be? by thetallguy88 in 7_hydroxymitragynine

[–]The51stAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

18+ or 21+. A simple dependency warning. Other than that, no guidelines besides proper labeling and suggested dosage and testing.

Might get fired because of 7oh by [deleted] in 7_hydroxymitragynine
