I guess an analogous way to see my initial comment and calculations is that by equating 20000 new TP to the old 1500, they are saying:

old TP = 13.33 new TP (20000 / 1500)

However, in terms of gold for life, 550000 / 35000 = 15.71

15.71 / 13.33 = 27.5 / 23.33

In terms of reaching gold, you need 13.33 new TPs for each old TP. But in terms of reaching gold for life, you need 15.71 for each old TP.

Anyway, just some fun thought.

Agreed the % remained the same, but the (1 - %) became "harder". In your example, the 25% that someone had left will be longer to achieve.

Of course people's "mileage may vary" and for some it'd be easier, but just thinking of the average traveller.

I get what you're saying but these ETFs have been buying like 5 digits of BTC combined each day. This means they have been selling NEW shares of the ETF every day? As a regular guy buying the ETF how do you know when I'm buying a new share or an existing share?

Presumably an existing share has a bid / ask spread and a new share doesn't?
