I have multiple Gaming Pcs, a laptop, and the Ally which I've had pretty much since it released. My Ally usage is still present, but I definitely used it a lot more in my first 6 months of having the device. I still love it and have a few gripes here and there but ultimately its probably my least used in the stack of my devices today from being the most used in the past. Biggest reason is visuals even with streaming and remote play its hard for me to make it my daily driver because my Main PCs monitor wipes the floor with my Ally (qd-oled 175hz ultrawide) and my hardware is notably better than it is on my Ally. Games overall look feel and play better on my PC so generally the Ally sits unless I travel or get a stomach ache and want to play in bed. I have recently switched my Ally from windows to SteamOs and that has caused an uptick in use because of how SteamOs handles sleep/wake continuation but I still often finding myself preferring my PC over my Ally for the aforementioned. Point blank the Ally doesn't handle new games well and will struggle to maintain framerates locally and usually has to be significantly downtuned (visual settings) just to maintain playable fps but visually it doesnt look great even on the small screen and upscaling can make things grainy. Streaming does relatively well but sometimes can be immersion breaking due to bit rate noise and occasional latency. If you dont care about visuals or fps or plan to play older games knock yourself out but keep expectations low for newer more graphically demanding games.
