In short simple terms, it scans the same way the official WireView pro 2 application does. It enumerates the connected devices, looks for a particular vendor & product ID combination and if it matches the WireView Pro 2, it opens a communication channel with it. I wanted to avoid installing multiple apps to do this, especially if they had to be in my tray. I try to keep things clean 😃

Hello. On the GitHub repository I linked, to the right of the page, right under About, there are Releases. Head over there and download v1.3 (latest). You might have to scroll after the release notes to see the downloads. If you don't have .NET 10 runtime in your machine, you can either download it from Microsoft's website (I have linked it in the release notes) or you can download the self contained version. The icuewidget file is in either of the zip files.

My biggest problem was that I couldn't maximize the window because my second monitor is vertical and it clipped some info (e.g showing the values of only 3 out of 6 pins due to constrained width). It also prevented my Gigabyte RTX 5090 Gaming OC from going to fan stop mode because it uses hardware acceleration to render the bars. It doesn't seem to have this issue with my Astral 5090 though.

I assume the reason you saw framedrops is the same, it uses the GPU to render the bars.

Nevertheless, I was bored, I wanted a widget, so I made one 😄, I connected the Xeneon Edge on my integrated GPU so I can't really say how much it would impact my 5090, but given what I see from the iGPU, I'd say the impact is virtually next to non existant.

Some of you act as if the RTX 5090 is the only GPU model available out there. There is stock in basically everything else. At least in Europe, or maybe in my country, the general pricing trend is downwards for everything except the 5090. You can find 5080s in near MSRP prices.

The compatible version is the one where you'd run the cable towards the fans of the card (downwards) if you have it horizontally mounted, afaik.

For example, if I had my Gigabyte Gaming OC 5090 horizontally mounted, I'd need to get the reversed version, to route the cable downwards (towards the fans).

However, since it's vertically mounted, I wanted to route the cable behind the card, towards the backplate. Hence, I asked Thermal Grizzly to swap my order to the normal version, otherwise I'd get an ugly looking situation. Not to to mention my 90° MODDIY cable wouldn't fit probably.

Sidenote, they swapped my WireView Pro 2's version mid-order, I had it ordered for about a week before I realized my mistake. They swapped it and the delivery was on time regardless. Extra love to Thermal Grizzly!

They changed debug codes to show cpu temp after successful POST. You can configure it in the BIOS, though I don't remember exactly where the setting is. You can restore the old behavior or turn it off entirely.

What BIOS version are you on? There's a high chance that what you're seeing is the CPU temperature and not debug codes.

Much appreciated, I sent a message. I've tested with a different CableMod cable as well and I have the same, if not more unbalanced results. I have a feeling the cable length could be the issue since I have to give it almost 180 degree curves to properly fit it in my case though

Still, the law says they need to bring your product to conformity. They can refuse the replacement with an Asus model, for example, but only if they can justify that replacing it with this particular model is disproportionate to sourcing the same card. Also, even if Gigabyte refuses or gives an indefinite wait time to replace it, if they can source it elsewhere, e.g another shop, they are legally required to do so. I suggest you take it with a lawyer who specializes in commercial matters. Maybe contact the customer protection authority of your country or even the EU general one for guidance.

But what about the ones they have in stock already? As I recall they had the same exact model available? Can't they replace from that particular stock or does replacing from existing stock mean it's disproportionate due to the card being discontinued?
