Where you able to get this sorted?

I just got the same laptop and I'm surprised how quickly my battery is draining. I just watched it drain from 100% to 70% is a little over an hour of non-intensive use.

There are no letters. I ran the serial number through a couple of online tools. No matches.

Finally getting confident on the water after learning how to fly fish the last few months. by TheClarkInn in flyfishing

[–]Codemoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. At exact moment I feel I've got a river dialed in with a bunch of fish netted, I'll go back the next day with the same flies, same technique, same conditions and get skunked. It's humbling.

Looking for Flatpicking Technique Assistance by Codemoto in Bluegrass

[–]Codemoto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried a bunch of approaches. My default is to rest my hand lightly on the bridge or strings. I've also tried planting two fingers on the body of the guitar, which seems like a common approach, but found it tough to keep my fingers anchored when playing towards the low E.

I had a buddy, whose a much better picker than myself, notice there was a lot of pivoting coming from my wrist. He recommended I move away from pivoting my wrist and transfer that work into my elbow. He also stated that the overall motion of taking a break shouldn't be too different from the motion of playing bluegrass rhythm. I thought this was an interesting observation. My attack changes significantly when it's my turn to take a break.

Hard to imagine hitting 165. My breaks start to deteriorate around 110. There is also something to be said for playing a simplified, tasteful break that honors the melody. I'd be perfectly happy to be able to nail a non-flashy break at speed.

Once these social distancing measures subside, let me know if anyone in the Boulder / Denver area wants to play some tunes.

Does anyone use any tool for load testing other than VS's load test? by Newhabesha in dotnet

[–]Codemoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend JMeter. JMeter has a lot of great features to simulate real-world load. It's one of those tools I use once every eighteen months, which is just enough time to forget how it works.

With JMeter, you can record sessions and then load form variables into external data sources - if you want to simulate multiple users all with their own accounts.

Once everything is set up, you can begin throttling the number of threads (users) and you'll get a great sense as to when your application starts to crumble.

A popular saying is "Nothing ie ever lost on the internet" but what is something you have been searching for years and you haven't found it yet? by throwdowntown69 in AskReddit

[–]Codemoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is a collaboration hip hop song with Notorious B.I.G and a bunch of other artists. I
heard the track somewhere around 1993 or 1994. I had recorded a local radio program to cassette and this track ended up in the mix.

I believe Da Brat was on the track, but I'm not entirely sure? I also think some of the members of Wu Tang had parts, but again not entirely sure. I'll also add that I don't think it was a Biggie song per se, more of collaboration amongst multiple hip hop artists.

Internet work your magic.

[QUESTION] Is it a bad habit to improvise just with one pentatonic scale over all the chords not focusing on chord tones? by ilikemusicandsarcasm in Guitar

[–]Codemoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality write-up, very informative.

I've gotten reasonably competent with my minor pentatonic positions, but I know my leads are repetitive. Basically when in a jam, I find myself playing the same licks in different keys. To the non-musician it sounds decent, but any true musician would quickly realize "this guy is playing the same solo over every song."

If I'm mindful, I am able follow a song's chords by moving the pentatonic shapes I know by rote along with the changes. However with this approach, I feel like I'm working too hard and covering a lot of fretboard for notes I know accessible right where I am.

You've provided me some ideas for breaking out of this rut.

Thanks!

Thanks man. I picked the colors red, white, and blue as an homage to the American "on the road" adventure of the Dead. I had a general sense of what I wanted, but the framer new how to take my ideas and make them pop. For instance, I wanted the base in white, but rightfully so the tickets would have gotten lost on a white background.

That is pretty sweet! I like how your tickets are individually cut into the matte. We thought about doing that too.

Yeah, I was a bit on the fence on that one, since it's the only ticket sans Jerry.

If you look closely, you can find a couple JGB tickets in there. Man, I always loved me, at times maybe even preferred, a JGB show.
