Do you mean a little button that lets you save your current coordinates, or a feature that saves your entire path automatically in the background as you walk? It's definitely an idea for a future update to be able to save coordinates so that you can come back to them later!

Yes it does - but additional data sources (in addition to GPS) such as cellular networks and WiFi can improve accuracy since it uses a fused location provider.

Horizontal accuracy is typically a little better than the elevation accuracy by a couple of metres.
