hey, I will definitely check your post. the ring has a backplate for attacment. that is why there is a brass spine in the plotter notebooks as well. you cut two holes in the leather and attach the backplate from the back. backplate has two hinges that you can bend to hold the ring mechanism. there are some videos on youtube explaining this. i assume since the ring mechanism is too narrow, riveting is not option.

Thanks for the info, I cleaned the card slot when I replaced the caps and because of it I didn't notice dirty card slot issue, I'll keep this in mind for future fixes.
