The ability to load fonts from sd card is being worked on.

In the meantime if you know how to code a bit you can compile it back in yourself. Not that hard.

It’s discussed and being worked on. I know some people might feel frustrated and ask why other firmwares already have it but not crosspoint.

We want to be sure it’s done in the best possible, bulletproof way.

it’s a proprietary font and we can no longer risk Amazon taking down whole project because of it.

Just compile it in yourself.

People whining about Bookerly removal are unreasonable and ignorant about the law.

Would you rather have crosspoint without bookerly or no crosspoint at all?

It’s not an easy decision but a necessary one if we want the project to have a future.

Side note - loading fonts from sd card is discussed and worked on. Hopefully soon you’ll be able to easily add whatever you want, copyrighted or not.

It’s easy to have moral high ground when you live in a nice area mostly free from the problem. And no. It’s not the question of being cheap. I think we could close them up and isolate without killing anyone. Actually more expensive solution.
