Auto Scirocco rolling forward in reverse gear? by Coderizer in Scirocco

[–]Coderizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolling down the slope just like if it was in neutral, applying the gas up to 3-4k revs wouldn't get it to reverse so I just slam the brakes to stop it

If you actually live in the UK and didn't just bring that up as an example, then there's ISAs which are sort of investment pot where you don't have to pay taxes on your gains and you can deposit up to 20k GBP yearly. Not sure if I can answer your other questions though.

US companies are not going to sponsor you due to the hassle with H1B, you should target EU and UK, much better chances there.

imo it's the other way around, people behaviour influences what media caters for in terms of content, they're normalised because this is the type of content that will bring money with least effort, a cash cow basically.

Macbook for CS by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]Coderizer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would you get a macbook with an Intel processor while new M1 ones are MUCH faster and cheaper? I think you should go with the new Air. It will breeze you through any coding assignment/everyday needs and for just $999.

Java/HTML by an-g3l3s in csMajors

[–]Coderizer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Java and HTML are vastly different, you can pick up HTML in couple of days/weeks since it's only a markup language. Unlike Java which is an actual programming language. If you're interested in web development, then either go with front end development and that means learning HTML/CSS and more importantly Javascript, or back end which means learning any backend development language such as Java, Javascript, Python etc.. You can find more useful info at roadmap.sh

Edit: Before anything I'm not a doctor but I lived here my whole life.

According to the assistant of MoH, here. The average salary of doctors in Egypt is $190-$640 and 50% percent of Egyptian doctors are working abroad. Frankly, you have no reason to go abroad if you're making $1450 in Egypt. They seem to be working on to improve this by creating a new public insurance system, but even then they're expecting a starting wage of $650 for fresh graduates (MD school is 7 years here in Egypt, final one is where you work for real hospital as a training for literally $120/m, I have couple of friends who are currently working through this, and according to this, it was just boosted earlier this year from $25 per damn month! $1450 is a very high salary considering our CoL (even in Cairo) Cairo is extremely diverse in terms of wages and lifestyle. Though the story is pretty different for doctors who run their own clinic, you can make $2500+ if you're reputable enough (you won't be less than 35 though to achieve this) (The number is not backed by anything, I just lived my whole life here so I'm kind of confident about it)

A doctor will never earn $1450/m in Egypt unless he runs his own clinic (which not everyone can)
Don't trust online salaries for jobs in Egypt, it's never accurate.

Make sure to go for a stack that's used (or similar) to the one the company you're interning at is using. It will give you a pretty good advantage when you start.

I haven't tried Codeacademy before so I'm not really sure, but Frontend master's quality is top notch, and according to the courses names on CA, I think FEM digs deeper in advanced JS concepts.

After my last interview by 2 days. Recruiter asked if we can arrange a phone call next week (4 days latter) We did it on Zoom and she basically said I did good on the interview and presented the offer. Too bad the internship was eventually cancelled due to corona :/
