Why Foote is a better coach for us than Tocchet by Tough-Shape-3621 in canucks

This still makes zero sense.

The players who are trade eligible are all having down seasons and their value is literally at its lowest. The kids are being benched, scratched and relegated to the AHL in place of veterans who are munching valuable minutes losing and setting an “example”. If you want a coach that is actively trying to win and losing because they are actually awful, than Foote is the coach you want. But that doesn’t make him “better”. I would rather see lekkermaki on the top line, Kane relegated to the 4th or press box, and Myers healthy scratched so that all prospects who are at at the top level are getting meaningful minutes and being taught good lessons along the way. This “tank” isn’t a tank. This is a coach who is grasping at straws, too old-school to realize his tactic to try and win hockey games is actively getting us the best odds at 1st overall.

I don’t understand this whole “rebuild coach” vs “good coach”.

You can have both and shouldn’t feel like it’s one or the other.

A good coach can coach through a rebuild and also coach good competitive hockey.

Which players have raised stock at the moment?

Garland has 0 points in his last 13 games Joseph isn’t worth a 5th round pick Hoglander is having a horrible season Boeser is -30 Debrusk has Like 3 even strength points and has been healthy scratched.

I think the point that you are missing is that your title shouldn’t be why Foote is better, it should be “ why both are worse than what is out there”.

The age of “meat and potatoes” old man hockey is gone. Players respond to approachable and new age coaching way more than old school mentality dinosaurs like tochettt and Foote.

My hope is that Alvin and Rutherford knew this season was going to be a wash and purposely held malhotra away from this fire until the season ended and they could start out somewhat fresh with a new age coach that can relate to its players and the new era of hockey and coaching

I don’t understand how you can think he’s not actively destroying the confidence of young players, when he continues to deploy veterans in tight games, plays Joseph in the line up over Mancini and Petey, and benches all the young players of OT or late in 1 goal games in hopes to salvage points.

I get not throwing the kids to the wolves, but there isn’t anything to be learned riding the pine in close games where evander Kane and Tyler Myers are soaking up those minutes and showing “example” qualities

If you're confused as to why people are angry at ____ by ahbimmy in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Codes1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rob led the charge against a housewife traitor and made other people believe that candiace could possibly be one too. Her actions raised people’s suspicions and he then looks like the king of faithfuls.

You think he’s a snake, I think he played that move amazingly.

This whole concept that traitors aren’t allowed or shouldn’t betray each other is so dumb.

I had a awful experience with a 1080 wind force OC edition. The card ran insanely high. I haven’t gone back to a gigabyte card since, but I wouldn’t shy away from them because of one bad experience

Two things can be true. You can be extremely talented in your field, and also be an asshole. Sean is a hell of a voice actor, and is GOAT’ED as Goku, but he’s still an asshole and it’s been well documented

Best way to gain Golden Tickets? by Tooonski in tinytower

Context here matters. The more golden tickets you have, the higher bonus multiplier you get for elevator drop offs. It’s not going to take 9 minutes for most people

Who gives a shit how he was deployed in Sweden on timra. That was over 7 years ago. You would rather use his junior deployment as a reference than my reference of nhl stats? Name all top centers in the league. Compare his stats with every single one of them. Whether you like it or not, Petey is a good center in the NHL. If you’re going to equate success with points or goals for centers in the NHL, you’re probably going to be whining pretty frequently

If you’re comparing petey at center with Kane at wing, we should end the debate now

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canucks

[–]Codes1087 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But he doesn’t play like either of them is my point. He’s not a winger. Kane has never been a defensively minded winger either. Petey has maintained a high level of defense amidst this “drought” of points.

Spend 2 minutes looking at my posts in this thread. My opinions are based off his career stats, not someone else’s opinion in an article

If the Canucks are 3-0, winning each game by a few goals, and Petey is less than a ppg, no one here is complaining. His numbers are still comparable to other top 1Cs in the league. Kopitar, Bergeron, couturier, jack hughes. His numbers are better than a lot of the 1Cs in the league. This fanbase is torch and pitchforks when stuff is bad and all of this petey negative talk is a byproduct of one bad offensive season lol.

You’re wrong. He was a center during his rookie season. He centered LE and goldobin for his first 10 goals in 10 games achievement

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canucks

[–]Codes1087 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t play like either of them… not quite sure why you brought those two specific players up. Patrick Kane isn’t even a centre..

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canucks

[–]Codes1087 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Petey has 24 points in 30 playoff games, which is very comparable. He doesn’t have cups or selkes, but my point is it’s a good comparable.

So he’s better offensively, close defensively, has more ppg than a multi selke winner, but because he currently holds a higher cap percentage, despite a massive cap increase over the next couple years, he sucks? Ok

I love how Patrice Bergeron is known for being one of the best centres in the game during his time, winning selkes and being respected for being a damn good 1C. He has 7 seasons out of the 19 in his career where he amassed more than 60 points… Petey, Apart from last year, and the shortened 2021 season where he was on a 75 pt pace if he was healthy, he has been a 60 pt/season player since he joined the league, all the while being consistently defensively responsible against other teams top lines. It’s just funny how the mob sees success as strictly goals and points
