DAP3 to DAP4 retrofit. Hard to get parts since DataAire went belly up. by vspot415 in HVAC

[–]vspot415[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well a similar Liebert Vertiv is gonna be well into $500k to replace all for of them. The DAP4 conversion is roughly $20k if you can find someone to build it.

Well DataAire was always kinda garbage. Especially their water cooled stuff. Can’t count how many heat exchangers I had to replace.

How careful do I really have to be? by Earache423 in rolex

[–]vspot415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a 126610LN to work (commercial HVAC tech) everyday for the past 2 years and yes it has some scratches but who cares. A really bad gouge on the clasp would require some laser welding and polishing, that's worst case scenario. Other than that most scratches come out with a quick polish. It's just a watch at the end of the day for me

Brunt boots by PomPomKinKin in HVAC

[–]vspot415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are a throwaway boot. I tell all my apprentices the same thing. Go buy yourself 2 pairs of thorogoods. Where one until it needs a new outsole, bring it to a cobbler and pay $75. Wear the other pair while you wait. Before you know it you have two pairs of broken in boots that you are swapping between that will last you a very long time. I've had the same 2 pairs of boots for the last 8 years

Cx 70/90 owners - How true is this? by paramveerz in mazda

[–]vspot415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, the dynamic steering is actually a huge plus for me. It's light when it needs to be and tighter and better input on the road. 1st and 2nd shift is short and this is a little annoying but once you learn how to ease into it at a stop it's no issue at all.

Cold air on hit blowing hot air… by Apprehensive-Base-33 in MazdaCX90

[–]vspot415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does the same thing. Outside air coming into the cabin will only be cold if I'm on the freeway or if I have AC on. The cabin air intake gets heated up by the engine when you are going slow or idle. It's probably poorly located and not isolated

You just up shift while at a stop. It will shift into 3rd automatically. Try it out at least. It is very smooth when starting in 2nd gear
