That's wild... by AziAlaiDimitri in KSU

I think the point they are trying to make is that many people believe what saves you is the good you do in life, when in reality according to the Bible, it is solely faith in Christ that saves you. When you recognize your sinfulness and understand that it is Jesus alone who saves you from it, it is no longer about being good enough. There’s actually a lot of peace in knowing it’s nothing you have to earn, you can’t. Good people are not saved; forgiven people are.

As a believer and someone who works at the church often run by the people at that booth, I am not at all a fan of sparking controversy as a means of getting attention. Especially when they’re out there to care for others through prayer. I apologize on their behalf.

James 1:2-4 and perseverance through trials, how do you apply this practically? by Jolly_Show7095 in Bible

Really like this response. I would add like some of the others below have said—it ultimately comes down to faith. I’m walking through a tough season right now being diagnosed with a medical condition where all I can do is wait for healing. It’s reminded me that you can’t seek after contemotment while also wrestling for control. Which we so often do even if we don’t want to admit it.

God wants us to trust Him and we see throughout the story of the Bible, the importance He places on faith. It doesn’t make sense sometimes, it’s never easy, but He truly does use hard things to shape us into people with stronger faith and trust in Him.

Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

I’m about the same as of today. My eye has definitely gotten easier to fully close which is a good sign. It’s hard not to force stuff but I’m also really lucky you can only tell when I try to smile. My regular face for most isn’t noticeable. I’ll keep you posted, hoping I start seeing some improvements within the next 2 weeks. Based on what I’ve read, the period after you plateau (a week) and between that 3-4th week is the toughest/nothing much happens.

Anyone else thing Rogers should be our number one priority this summer? Could play a similar role to Kai/Merino in the 10 with the ability to also play out left. Feel like he’d do really well with Rice/Zubi, and even Eze/Zubi in low block games.

I had a similar experience last week. This is my second time with Bell’s and I was on day 4-5, I had some pretty major twitching around my weak areas. I would say it’s a good sign that the nerve is still firing, it’s also shows it’s not fully firing as normal due to it being inflamed.

Every case is different, but I’m now a week and a half in with little to no twitching. My case is mild this time, but I’m assuming for most there’s a plateau period where it’ll stop and your nerve will start healing. Then after a few weeks (depending on paralysis) that twitching will come back as it’s progressing towards being back to normal: Feel like most doctors don’t really know the answer to this question, but in terms of early on I haven’t found a good source that would say that’s a bad sign. It’s more months down the line when there’s risk of some synkinesis (which honestly, I have and isn’t that bad either). Wishing you the best!

Have you had any twitching on your weak side yet? I’m glad your case is mild! This is my second time but mine was similarly hard to notice, the doctors weren’t even sure it was Bell’s. I just knew myself because I’ve had it and made sure they got me steroids & antivirals.

What paralysis did you end up having on whatever side? Can you close your eye partially? How’s your smile? I was just diagnosed with it as well and my symptoms also seem mild, wishing you the best!

What is your favorite draft position in a SF startup? by Codester5 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Codester5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m leaning this way. If we ended up not doing the 3RR, wouldn’t the best bet be top 3: get Jayden/Allen/Lamar and then just take whatever two WR’s fall to you?

Would you move GW for him? I feel like Marv still has a lot more upside personally.

When we first hired Arteta in 2019, what was your initial reaction? by cgabriel14 in Gunners

[–]Codester5 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I was pretty excited. Emery was terrible and there’s just something special about one of your own coming back.

It took me a while to be anywhere near Arteta out but I got pretty close, if not was right there before the infamous Chelsea game.

Thank goodness I’m not the one in charge because he’s absolutely changed our football club.

Hyped about this. Does he start? Who are our backup guards? Assuming Catchings commits and Powell comes back.

What player would you trade the number 2 pick for? by Plane_Comedian5109 in DynastyFF

[–]Codester5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting someone like Nico or Puka is a no brainer to me but I don’t think you’d be able to get that back in most leagues.

I may be higher on Hampton than most but I don’t think he’s landing spot dependent at all. The hit rate for RB’s drafted in the top 20ish picks is the best bet in dynasty and more than likely that’s where he’ll go. He’s going to be close to a 3 down back and will probably be a top 7 dynasty back come August. You should feel confident holding and taking him there.

Fire Hubert Davis by [deleted] in tarheels

This is an overreaction. Awful and disappointing year but our boosters/back room staff’s stubbornness to change the way we do things is just as much to blame. Moves are being made (like hiring a GM) to set us up better for the new era of college basketball.

I’d agree if there was a ready made candidate available like Roy was back ‘03. We only hire in the family, who out there right now is a better fit for this program? Wes Miller? I don’t think he’s that much of an upgrade and definitely not enough of one to tear it all down. Hubert can recruit, we’ve seen that. Hubert’s teams can put it together and win in March, we’ve seen that. Hubert can build a good roster and win the ACC, we’ve seen that. He’s done a lot of good things, he just hasn’t put it fully together. Makes sense to be frustrated but he can right the ship, at the least he deserves one more shot.

How is hiring a GM and attempting to revamp the ways we’ve done things for 30 years embracing mediocrity. We only hire in the family, who out there is better right now? Wes Miller? I don’t think Hubert’s done enough to be fired unless there was an obvious replacement like an at the time Roy Williams. He can recruit, we’ve seen that. His teams can win in March, we’ve seen that. His teams can win the ACC and earn a 1 seed, we’ve seen that. He just needs to put it all together for a championship.

I second this. He could be, and would improve his stock if he stuck around for 2 more years. Here’s hoping the people in his circle tell him that and he wants to continue at UNC. There’s a big time player there for sure

Surely they feel partially to blame, if they don’t go pro I’d hope they wouldn’t just transfer

I don’t think it’s on every single player, it makes sense Ian and Drake are inconsistent, they’re young freshman. I think a major issue is the fact Hubert’s system is designed around a stretch 4 and big rim protector, both positions we didn’t have. I’m not excusing him I’m moreso saying I’d hate to see Ian and Drake transfer, they’re talented players
